About 300 students vied for honours at Camosun College last Friday during the annual South Island Regional Skills Canada Competition. Student competed in a wide range of areas, such as cabinet making, carpentry, spaghetti-bridge building, metal trades, culinary arts and fabrication and welding.

Congratulations to the following Stelly's students who came out on top at the competition.

  • Cabinet Making: Gold-Kenny Owen, Silver-Adam Johnson
  • Carpentry: Gold-Wesley Holden, Silver-Malcolm Hemsworth, Bronze-Tyson Franklin
  • Culinary Arts: Gold-Katrina Archibald, Silver-Reece Thompson, Bronze-Christine McRae

Gold medal winners will represent the South Island region at the upcoming Skills Canada BC provincial competition in Abbotsford on April 30.
