Beacon Community Services Scholarships

DONOR:

Beacon Community Services in honour of Gerry Edwards and his dedicated volunteer service to our community.

VALUE:

4 x $1,500

CRITERIA: Eligibility includes any SD #63 graduating student who is attending a post-secondary institution and has demonstrated significant student leadership with high level of service to the school and/or community.  Examples could include hospital visitation, canvassing, peer counselling, assistance to the mentally or physically challenged, aid to the elderly, etc.
250 word statement on his/her plans for post-secondary education and his/her career aspirations;
A CV that clearly outlines his/her history of leadership or community service/volunteerism and it's scope and impact; some of which must be performed in Beacon's geographic boundaries
At least ONE Letter of reference (from non-family member) attesting to the candidate's volunteerism or community service or leadership and it's scope and impact
Any other documents or evidence that the candidate considers relevant (press clippings, reports, photos)
All documents must be on 81/2 x11 paper and if scanned, it must be in a PDF format with each page clearly labeled with your name, school & school district
