GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

MODEL UN meeting at lunch in RM 70.

SCHOOL ID AND  PHOTOS: Stop by the office to pick up school ID & photos if you missed TA on Tuesday!

HOMEWORK HELP: Homework Help is now available Tuesday through Friday mornings starting at 7:30am and after school in the Learning Commons Monday through Friday until 4pm.

COFFEE CONCERT: The 1st Stelly's Coffee Concert of the year is tomorrow night at 7pm in the MPR. All participants please meet at the beginning of lunch in the MPR for a brief meeting!

MONTREAL OTTAWA & QUEBEC CITY SPRING BREAK 2018: Interested in travelling to Montreal, Ottawa, and Quebec City for seven days of Spring Break, 2018?  This amazing trip is still open to all Stelly's students.  October 15 is the deadline for the early bird price.  Please see Mrs Wallace in room 108 or email her for information.  A meeting for interested students and their parents will be held on Wednesday, October 11 at 5:30 in Room 108.

WE DAY: Interested in attending We Day Vancouver?  See Mrs. Wallace in Room 108 for more information and permission forms.  Don't know what We Day is?  Google We Day Vancouver 2017 to get info and see video clips.

JR GIRLS BASKETBALL OPEN GYM: Jr Girls Basketball open gym night on Wednesday at 5 pm in the small gym.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITES:
Special Olympics Bowling.  Special Olympics BC is looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to serve as head coach of their 5-pin bowling program on Tuesdays 5- 6:30pm at Miracle Lanes in Sidney.
Face Painting at a Halloween Pumpkin Carving Event October 22 – hosted by the Remax Realty Group. 4 face painters are needed – experience an asset, but not required.

TRAINING
Spaces are still available for the following training sessions:

FoodSafe Level 1 on Oct 20th from 8:30-4:30.
Basics of Banking & Finance on Oct 28th from 10:00- 11:30. Both courses offered by Beacon Community Services in Sidney.  Stop by the Career Centre for more info.

Operation: This IS You - Opportunities for Girls
The Achieve Anything Foundation has partnered with the Canadian Coast Guard and the Royal Canadian Navy to offer hands-on experience opportunities for girls!  These events hope to inspire more women in Aviation, Aerospace, Marine & Defence and other STEM (science, technology, engineering& math) fields.  The first event of the series is taking place October 14th.  Visit the Career Centre for more information on these opportunities!

GRAD 2018

GRAD PARENT INFO NIGHT- is this Thursday at 7pm in the MPR. Parent's please join us and find out all about the upcoming grad year ahead!  Following the meeting the DRY GRAD 2018 COMMITTEE will be having a parent meeting.

GRAD PORTRAITS
Attention all grads: make sure you book your grad photos right away.  Lifetouch will have their portable photo studio here for a limited time.  To book you appointment, please go to the Lifetouch website: www.lifetouch.ca/victoria.  Don't put this off until later, or all of the appointments will be booked up and you will run out of time.  Sitting fee of $25 is due at the time of your appointment.  Information brochures are available on the Grad board in the main foyer.
