Encounters With Canada - Engaging youth in Canada's future

The cost per student for an Encounters' week in Ottawa is now $575, which includes lodging, meals, most planned activities and local transportation. Travel to Ottawa, from anywhere in Canada, is FREE of charge thanks to Exchange Canada, a program of the Department of Canadian Heritage, which covers air, rail and bus transportation! Many of the other 13 different theme weeks offered with EWC have been filled, but there are seats still available in some remaining areas in the Fall and Winter/Spring sessions. Check out the Encounters Calendar  to view theme weeks that still have seats available; you must be aged 14-17 years when you attend. HOUSE OF COMMONS PAGE PROGRAM: The recruitment cycle for the House of Commons Page Program is on now through to December. Pages are first-year undergraduate students who work in the House of Commons in Ottawa for one year.  Under the terms of their contract, Pages are paid $16,088 in 26 equal payments over a 12-month period. In addition, a sum of $1,200 is paid at the end of the employment period for successful completion of the contract. Are you interested in:

It's Camosun's TEAC 105 (Explorations in Technology) registration time for the Feb-May 2018 course!  This dual-credit course, runs on Fridays from 3-6 pm, and provides current high school students with an introduction to careers in 4 technology areas:   Computer Science, Electronic and Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

Marion Haythorne, a Capilano instructor, leads parents through an engaging seminar using interactive activities to explore interests/values and career pathways for their children.
