GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

EXAM SCHEDULE: The updated exam schedule is posted on the front page of the website.  Please make sure you are aware of where and when your exams are. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your exam time.

REMINDER to RETURN YOUR TEXTBOOKS ASAP! Students who have outstanding textbooks from 1st semester will not be issued textbooks for 2nd semester until they are returned!

BUS PASSES: New Bus Passes have arrived and are available in the office!

EVENING OF PERFORMING ARTS:  Stelly's Performing Arts department presents "An Evening of Performing Arts on Friday, January 26th at 7pm. Performances by Dance, Vocal Jazz and musical Theatre classes. Tickets available from the main office. Adults $7.00, $5.00 Students

CAREER CENTRE

NEW COURSE OFFERED FOR 2nd SEMESTER

School Based and Dual Credit Trades course.  There are 2 Parts to this  program for 4-16 credits

Part 1:Tool Time” (with Tim): Arouse your spirit of inventiveness and develop confidence and competence as you become an expert at using a wide array of hand and power tools as well as stationary equipment in a fun and safe setting. Tool timid? You’ll get over your inhibitions as you experience success using all sorts of new tools. Bit of a tool expert? Take it to the next level and enhance your skills by creating and building cool artifacts with your new found expertise. 

Students who successfully complete this course will not only have a wealth of new skills and knowledge, but they will earn 4 credits for a “dual credit” college level course for the online learning component as well as a 4-credit Tech Ed course.  The dual credit college course also serves as a prerequisite to Camosun College’s NEW Marine Industry TASk Program (running this summer) as well as meeting the common core tool competencies for Camosun College’s Plumbing and Pipe Trades Foundation program and the Electrical Foundation program.  Upgrade your skills and qualifications as well as acquiring valuable life skills by enrolling in Tool Time with Tech Ed teacher, Tim Lockhart in second semester.

In this session you will learn all about credit cards and pre-paid cards and loans, the advantages and disadvantages, what to look for and how to calculate the “real” cost of a loan.

GRAD PORTRAIT RETAKES
Grad Photo retake appointments are no available to book online for two days only:  January 31st & Feb 1st ONLY.  You can book your appointment online now by going to www.lifetouch.ca/victoria.

GRAD TRANSITIONS
Grads get your Grad Transition done now before crunch time! Grad Transition Interview day is Tuesday, April 17th.   If you have intentions of graduating early see Ms Jackson in the career centre. Grad Transition information and forms are available from the Career Centre or website. Remember, GT is a graduation requirement.

INTERNATIONAL:

SISP MT WASHINGTON SKI TRIP :  Feb 28 and Mar 1  -  Cost $195.00

Package includes Bus Transportation, Accommodation, Snow Tubing, Lift & Ski Rental, Ski Lessons. Forms are available in the International Office. Last day to Sign-up is Friday, Feb 9th.
