GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Grade 11's...Are you interested in being on the Grad Exec next year? Application forms are now available on Grad board in the main foyer. Due date is April 11th.

MANDATORY GRAD ASSEMBLEY on Thursday, April 4th in Block 4. All Grade 12 students must attend!

The Accounting office will be closed Thursday and Friday this week.

3 ON 3 BASKETBALL INTRAMURALS: 3 on 3 Basketball Intramurals start today at lunch in the large gym. Come changed and ready to play! If you are not on a team yet, come talk to Ms. Montgomery!

THE HIVE, STELLY’S SCHOOL STORE is open today at lunch. Come by to check out school merchandise, snacks, and supplies, and fill out our survey to let us know what you'd like to see in the Hive. The link is posted on the school website's main page

HOMEWORK HELP:  Need any help with your homework? Extra Help is available every morning from 7:15am in the Learning Commons or after school Monday/Tuesday and Thursday until 4pm! Check it out!

Are you interested in becoming a doctor? Do you know you can earn your MD at UVic? The Island Medical Program delivers the UBC MD Undergraduate Program in partnership with the University of Victoria and Island Health. Learn more about the MD admissions process at the upcoming high school information session:  Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at 6:30-8:00 pm in the UVic Medical Sciences Building, room 105.  Discover what the med school experience is like from current IMP students.  Admission is FREE and everyone is welcome including parents and guardians

FREE Training Program - Wednesday nights 6:30 - 9:00 pm - 9565 Hurricane Road, North Saanich, BC. Receive Training in: Safe boating and sailing - Navigation and seamanship - Communication and teamwork - Citizenship - Air rifle marksmanship. Added bonuses include: Earn high school credits, community service hours and receive scholarship opportunities. Check out the Poster for more information on training and bonuses!!

RUSTIC PATHWAYS (International Community Service Programs) Are you interested in a culturally immersive adventure and international community service programs? Meet a representative from Rustic Pathways on Thursday at lunch in the front foyer!

Did you know that Beacon Community Services offers up to 4 scholarships of $1500 to graduating Grade 12 students who show dedication to Community service/volunteerism. In other words, to students who exemplify our Beacon charity’s mission of helping people and improving lives! INTERNATIONAL

Tofino Bear Watching or Surfing Trip - May 8th -The cost of this trip is $250.00 per person and includes transportation, overnight accommodation, one buffet dinner, and a  Bear Watching Boat Tour OR a Surfing Lesson.  Forms may be picked up in the International Office. The deadline for payment and registration is Friday, April 12, 2019. Don't wait until the last moment as there are limited seats available!

Family Resources Fair – April 16
A family resources fair is being planned by School District 63, combining the "Life After High School" and the "Community Living Resource Fair." This will be a chance for the community to network with current service providers to learn about who they are and what supports and services they provide for children, youth and adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities.  Saturday April 6, 11:30 – 3:30 at the Royal Oak Middle School gymnasium.

Reminder to families about the Parent Education Presentation next week on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 from 6:30-8:30pm, at Bayside Middle School on what students are learning about substance use, sexual orientation, gender diversity and modern masculinity. Presenters will include:  Michelle Joyce (SD 63 Police Liaison),  Lux Welsh (Ambit Gender Diversity),  Nick Sandor (Island Sexual Health) It is free, but please register at Sexuality and Substance Use Awareness
