Grad Executive 2020: Are you a grade 11 student interested in joining next years grad exec? We are looking for enthusiastic, responsible and committed grade 11 students to start planning for GRAD 2020. Applications are now available on the grad board in the main foyer. Applications are due Thursday April 11. Please see Mrs Dildy or Mrs Hilton for more information.

HOMEWORK HELP: Need any help with your homework? Extra Help is available every morning from 7:15am in the Learning Commons or after school Monday/Tuesday and Thursday until 4pm! Check it out!

TENNIS TEAM: Any students interested in playing on the Stelly's Tennis Team this year please see Mr. Redlin in the main office. Tennis team practice is Friday after school at Centennial Park!

Indigenous Leadership meeting at lunch today...Please be on time as we have a guest speaker!
Youth In Action club is hosting a drive to help homeless members of our society. Please support us by bringing clothing and hygiene supplies to the box in the main foyer. There are posters around the school with ideas of what is needed by the Victoria Cool Aid Society. Collecting will continue until April 20.

Coast Capital Savings Internship Program
The Coast Capital Savings - Youth Get It - Internship Program recruitment is underway! Coast Capital offers this valuable, fun, and paid work experience opportunity to students entering grade 11 or 12 in September 2019. There are 8 positions available in the Greater Victoria area. UVic Medical Program Info - May 7
Are you interested in becoming a doctor? Do you know you can earn your MD at UVic? The Island Medical Program delivers the UBC MD Undergraduate Program in partnership with the University of Victoria and Island Health. Learn more about the MD admissions process at the upcoming high school information session on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, from 6:30-8:00 pm, in the UVic Medical Sciences Building, room 105.
Saanich Summer Internship Program
Saanich Parks & Recreation: Summer Internship Program is designed to support youth ages 16-18 years to gain valuable work experience. Mentored part-time and full-time placements are available in summer camps and community settings throughout Saanich. Interns receive up to $500 for completing the program! DESTINATION UVIC - May 25th – Uvic encourages all admitted students to attend DestinationUVic on May 25 where they will have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with an academic advisor, visit the info fair and connect with student services on campus and take an in-depth campus tour. There will also be Reg 101 workshops to attend on campus that day. Students who attend Destination UVic will be eligible to win a tuition credit towards their first year at UVic – one of two $500 prizes and one grand prize of $1000. Peninsula Country Market is looking hire students to help out at the weekly market. If you like to be outdoors, the sound of live music, fresh fruit & veggies this is a wonderful summer job. Saturdays 9 am-1 pm / June 1 -October 13 - Stelly’s Fairgrounds, 1528 Stelly’s Cross Road. Help is also needed to set up and tear down tables and tents 7:00am – 1:30pm – 6.5 hours @ $13.00/Hr. GRAD SPRING PLANT FUNDRAISER: Grads don't forget to pick up your Grad Spring Plant fundraiser form from the Grad board. This fundraiser will help you pay for your Dinner/Dance ticket .... so don't delay grab a fund raising form today! Due date is April 18th!
Grad’s don’t forget to grab a Thrifty Smile card or a Fairway card from the office to raise funds for the Dry Grad. Get your parents to load the card when they shop, and the stores will make a donation to Dry Grad 2019.

Tofino Bear Watching or Surfing Trip - May 8th -The cost of this trip is $250.00 per person and includes transportation, overnight accommodation, one buffet dinner, and a Bear Watching Boat Tour OR a Surfing Lesson. Forms may be picked up in the International Office. The deadline for payment and registration is Friday, April 12, 2019. Don't wait until the last moment as there are limited seats available!

Reminder to families about the Parent Education Presentation next week on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 from 6:30-8:30pm, at Bayside Middle School on what students are learning about substance use, sexual orientation, gender diversity and modern masculinity. Family Resources Fair – April 16
A family resources fair is being planned by School District 63, combining the "Life After High School" and the "Community Living Resource Fair." This will be a chance for the community to network with current service providers to learn about who they are and what supports and services they provide for children, youth and adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities. Saturday April 6, 11:30 – 3:30 at the Royal Oak Middle School gymnasium.
PENINSULA YOUTH CLINIC
The Peninsula Youth Clinic in Sidney is open today and every THURSDAY from 5:30 - 7:30pm with both a doctor and mental health clinician on hand.
