Grace Tidman and Iandra Lamplugh spent their summer playing lacrosse.

Their club team for the Greater Victoria area qualified for the provincial championships in Nanaimo in June. They won the BC Bantam (13 and 14 year olds) Girls B Division title beating Ridge Meadows 5 -2 in the final. Grace led the tournament in goals and scoring and added tournament MVP to her gold medal.

Grace and Iandra were then part of a group of Island girls that formed a team to compete in the United States Box Lacrosse Championships in Huntington Beach, California over the August long weekend. The Vancouver Island Vibe girls competing against teams from all over the United States stunned the 4-time defending champs from Denver 5 -3 in the final.

Next it was on to the Canadian Championships. After being selected to represent Team BC at the May tryouts, and spending numerous weekends travelling back and forth to the Mainland for practices, the tournament ran August 20 - 24 in Coquitlam, BC. Team BC, featuring an unprecedented five Island girls, survived a nail biter, beating Team Ontario in the final 3 – 2. And Grace Tidman and Iandra Lamplugh had their “golden hat tricks”.
