GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

A huge Congratulations to the Stelly’s AMAZING MUSIC Department on their fabulous Winter music concert last night! The talent Stelly’s has is utterly AMAZING!

GRAD WINTER FORMAL is happening tonight and starts at 6:30pm...

Any students taking the Dual credit Law12/Criminology course next semester ...applications are past due ... please get them to Ms. Hoffman or Ms. Koenig ASAP !

CANDY GRAMS are on sale today at lunch until Dec 17th in the Hive Store. The cost is 50 cents each or 5 for $2.00.

STELLY'S ANNUAL FOOD HAMPER DRIVE is now in full swing... Check with your Block one teacher and find out what items you can bring in to help out our less fortunate families in our community!

YOUTH IN ACTION is collecting items for homeless holiday boxes. These boxes are filled with things like NEW toiletries, socks, mittens, toques, etc. There will be a big box outside the office. please bring something to keep the people who are homeless in Victoria warm and clean. 

Reminder to Grade 9's to return your immunization forms to the office ...all forms should be in by the end of this week!

ITALY Spring Break 2021 - Are you interested in going to Italy for 11 days over Spring Break of 2021. Stelly's will be taking a group to Venice, Florence, Rome and the Amalfi Coast. Please see Ms Liberatore in Room 144 or email tliberatore@saanichschools.ca for more information. Payment plans and an early registration discount is available.

SCHOOL BUS PASSES are now available in the office for pick up! The bus drivers will start asking for them soon.

CAREER CENTRE

TRAINING & EDUCATION:

Camosun's TEAC 105 (Explorations in Technology) registration is now open for the Feb-May 2020 course!  This dual-credit course, runs on Fridays from 3-6 pm, and provides current high school students with an introduction to careers in 4 technology areas:   Computer Science, Electronic and Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. See the Counselling Office for application forms.

Interested in going into the Health Care field? Check out Camosun’s New Allied Health Course Offering - This blended AHLT 104 & 134 course delivery is new, and will be offered Friday afternoons starting in Feb.  Come see a counsellor for more information or to get an application.

JDF Fire/Rescue Cadet Camp – application deadline Dec 18 - Do you have what it takes to… Run into a burning building when everyone else is running away? Handle a hose so powerful it takes two people to hold it? Dangle off the end of a rope 50 feet in the air? Use the Jaws of Life and other tools to save someone trapped in a car? The next JDF Fire/Rescue Cadet Camp runs March 16 – 21, 2020.  For information & applications, please visit the Career Centre.  Upon completion, students qualify for 100 Work Experience hours, equivalent to 4 school credits.

GRAD 2020

GRAD PHOTO RETAKES are on Dec 17 & 18 -  Stop by the  main office and sign up. All grads need to have their photo's taken for the yearbook. No sitting fee is required if you don't plan on purchasing portraits.

INTERNATIONAL

International Student Farewell is today at lunch in the Learning Commons. Bring your lunch and celebrate the holidays with some Hot Chocolate and Treats

SAANICH INTERNATIONAL STUDENT WINTER DANCE is on Wednesday, Dec 18th - 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm - Please sign up with Diane in the International Office ASAP! It will be an evening filled with music, dinner, photo booth, friends and even a visit with Santa!

PARENTS/COMMUNITY

PARENTS AS EDUCATORS & CAREER COACHES -  Jan 30   Are you the parent of a high school student? Would you like to help them with their post-secondary choices? This is an interactive workshop designed to give you the skills and confidence you need.  Educational Planner is presenting "Parents as Education and Career Coaches" on THURSDAY January 30th at Stelly's Secondary School, at 6:30 pm. PENINSULA YOUTH CLINIC - The Peninsula Youth Clinic in  Sidney is open today and every THURSDAY from 5:30 - 7:30pm with both a doctor and mental health clinician on hand.
