Sr. Musical Theatre class presents "SHREK the MUSICAL" starting Feb 4th through Feb 8th,2020.  Tickets are available for sale at lunch in the main foyer or at the office. Buy your tickets soon ... as they are selling fast!

Italy Spring Break 2021 - Visit Italy for 11 days during your Spring Break of 2021! We will arrive in Milan and the visit Venice, Florence, Assisi, Rome, Pompeii and Capri. This tour is organized by EF Tours and hosted by Ms Liberatore from Stelly's. Please contact Ms Liberatore fat lunch inRm 144 on Friday for more info. CAREER CENTRE

TRAINING & EDUCATION:

RCMP Training in Saskatchewan – 5 days in Spring Break - The RCMP is inviting 32 grade 12 students from across Canada to the Youth Engagement Week held at the Police Training Academy in Regina, Saskatchewan. The program will take place from March 23 to 27. Costs for travel, accommodations and meals will be covered by the RCMP. This is a great opportunity for students, who are interested in a career in law enforcement, to experience a week of what training in the RCMP looks like! Are you interested in Marine Biology as a Career or a General Science CareerJoin us for a field trip to the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre on Friday, February 28th to Monday, March 2, 2020.  (Students must be 16-18 and in grade 10-12). WOMEN IN TRADES & TECHNOLOGY EXPLORATION DAY - Camosun College- Feb 26th   Bus transportation and lunch will be provided! This is a chance to check out well paying careers in the following:  Trades - Electricians - Automotive Service Technicians - Sheet Metal/Metal Fabricators - Carpenters, Technology- Civil Engineering - Computer Science - Electronics Engineering - Mechanical Engineering.  More information will be out soon. YMCA Summer Work Student Exchange is a national program offering opportunities for youth to improve their second official language skills, explore another part of Canada, and gain valuable work experience through a work placement while on the exchange. The program runs for 6 weeks (early July to mid August), you must be 16 or 17 years of age during the summer program. Camosun's TEAC 105 (Explorations in Technology) registration is now open for the Feb-May 2020 course!  This dual-credit course, runs on Fridays from 3-6 pm, and provides current high school students with an introduction to careers in 4 technology areas:   Computer Science, Electronic and Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. See the Counselling Office for application forms.

Interested in going into the Health Care field? Check out Camosun’s New Allied Health Course Offering - This blended AHLT 104 & 134 course delivery is new, and will be offered Friday afternoons starting in Feb.  Come see a counsellor for more information or to get an application.

Saanich Peninsula Hospital is looking for Volunteers in their Extended Care Unit Meal Time Host weekend program!
This is a great opportunity for youth interested in pursuing a career in health care and who are passionate about supporting our local elder populations. GRAD 2020

Magic Wand Project - Magic Wand Project is a non-profit organization that offers an inexpensive and eco-friendly alternative to grad outfits for both girls and boys. This is a chance to borrow, rather than buy, a dress, suit or tux, (a small fee for cleaning is the only charge). All outfits are new or like-new, and all accessories are included. DRY GRAD 2020 COMMITTEE   The parents of the Dry Grad 2020 Committee are looking for assistance from grad parents to obtain prizes for our raffle fundraiser. The raffle has the potential to raise $14,000 for the dry grad event, which will have a huge impact on the amount of available funding. Our hope is that you can approach your workplace for an exciting donation that will promote the sale of our tickets. Or, if you own a business, we would appreciate gift certificates or merchandise that we could use as a raffle and/or silent auction prize. BOTTLE DRIVE FOR GRAD 2020: The next Grad bottle drive is on Saturday, January 25th from 9:00am-12:00pm to raise money for the After Grad 2020. The Bottle Drive schedule co-insides with the Community Recycling and soft plastics drop-off at Stelly’s each month.

PARENTS AS EDUCATORS & CAREER COACHES -  Jan 30   Are you the parent of a high school student? Would you like to help them with their post-secondary choices? This is an interactive workshop designed to give you the skills and confidence you need.  Educational Planner is presenting "Parents as Education and Career Coaches" on THURSDAY January 30th at Stelly's Secondary School, at 6:30 pm.
