GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Today the CAFETERIA has the choice of Hot Beef Taco Wraps, Clubhouse on Ciabatta, Chicken Caesar Salad, Butter Chicken rice Bowl with Naan, Roasted Carrot & Spinach Ricotta stuffed pasta or Thai spiced Yam & Squash Soup.  Come on down and check it out! And Don't forget to tell the AMAZING Ladies, Nicole & Jamie in the Kitchen that they are rocking it! We appreciate everything they do for Stelly's!

Stelly’s Annual Christmas Hamper Drive is now on through December 14th, 2020. We would like to be able to provide Food Hampers to families in our community. We are requesting donations of non-perishable food items, cash donations or gift cards from local grocery stores. Donation Boxes will be in every classroom

GRADS ... Reminder that Grad Diploma Verification forms are now past due! Forms are available in the Career Centre. This must be done to Graduate!

Just a reminder .... MORNING HOMEWORK HELP is available every morning from 7:15 am in room 156 and AFTER SCHOOL HOMEWORK HELP is every Monday through Thursday in the Learning Commons until 4pm.

CLUBS

THE MOOSEHIDE PLANNING GROUP for Indigenous Leadership is meeting at lunch in the Cultural Room. This includes: Sakora, Justice, Marlayna, Rhiannon & Patti-Ann. Please remember to bring a mask and your lunch.

Model UN is meeting on Friday in RM 116 at lunch. See Ms. Sidhu if you have any questions or can't make it!

CAREER CENTRE

TRADES EXPLORATION (TEx Program) - Want to learn more about what it is like to work as a carpenter, plumber, electrician, or welder?  There are limited seats available for next year’s Quarter 3 Trades Exploration Program, provided in partnership with Camosun College. Learn about each trade, fast track your future and earn up to 8 credits toward grad for completing 2 courses!  Please see Ms. Hackman in the Career Centre for more information.

SAANICH SKILLS TRAINING APPRENTICESHIP & CARPENTRY PROGRAM is a full 2nd semester immersion program where students learn the basics of constructing a wood frame structure from the bare ground to the rooftop. This program blends both theoretical knowledge and practical application of skills and concepts related to the trade. Successful students transition directly to Camosun College for further training as Level One Carpentry Apprentices. Please see Ms. Hackman in the Career Centre for more information.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES:

JERRY WAKEFIELD CONSTRUCTION: is looking for laborer’s who are interested in a career in Carpentry.  Jerry Wakefield Construction is a General Contracting Company who is willing to teach and train you with the potential for an apprenticeship!! GRAD 2021

AFTER GRAD FUNDRAISER:  Grads ... your gift card fundraiser forms are located on the Grad board in the main foyer. We are selling gift cards from local businesses this Christmas to raise money for the 2021 Grad and the businesses will give us a portion of the sales!  Forms due Dec 4th, 2020

GRAD BOTTLE DRIVE - SATURDAY, November 28th from 9am-12pm.  Grads and parents, we have another bottle drop-off and sorting day coming up this Saturday November 28th from 9am to noon. We are short of volunteers, please remember that the money raised benefits all the grads. Also, the grads can earn some of the volunteer hours to graduate. Please bring gloves and a mask. Reply to ciaramahughes@gmail.com  ... if you can make it!

PENNINSULA YOUTH CLINIC is operating through Telehealth on Thursday evenings 5:30 - 7:30pm Appointments with doctors or mental health workers are conducted by phone or video. Services are completely free and confidential in their judgement free zone for any medical concerns, to get prescriptions, or to speak with a counsellor. To make an appointment, call 250-656-4143.
