Today the CAFETERIA has the choice of Ham, Cheese Tomato & Arugula Panini, Chicken Caesar Salad, Crunchy Thai Peanut Chicken Wrap, Meat Ravioli with garlic cream sauce, Beef or Veggie Enchiladas or Chicken Cordon Bleu with Caramelized Almond Green beans and Rosemary smashed potatoes! Just a reminder .... MORNING HOMEWORK HELP is available every morning from 7:15 am in room 156 and AFTER SCHOOL HOMEWORK HELP is every Monday through Thursday in the Learning Commons until 4pm.

FAST FORWARD in STEM - This STEM webinar series introduces women in post-secondary in career opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. Featuring inspiring speakers, the free webinars are open to students, educators, and parents. One-hour webinars take place on January 9th & 14th, 2021 with Speakers from industry and academia will share success stories, information, and resources about careers in STEM. UVIC VIRTUAL PARENTS NIGHT - Thursday, January 14th, 2021, 6:00 PM. Parent Nights will provide parents & guardians with the opportunity to learn more about UVic. Attendees will enjoy a presentation by Dr. Lisa Surridge, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, with some helpful tips on being successful in post-secondary studies. The focus of the talk is helping parents (and students) navigate the transition from high school to university. Events are scheduled in Pacific Time. Registration closes two hours before an event. DISTRICT CAREER PROGRAMS & DUAL CREDIT OPPORTUNITIES - Virtual Information Night – THURSDAY January 28 @ 7pm. Parents are invited to join a virtual meeting to learn more about opportunities available to students in grades 10-12 in the Saanich School District. You will find out about: Skills Training Apprenticeship Carpentry (STAC), Work Experience 12A & 12B (WEx), Trade Awareness Skills & Knowledge (TASK), Trade Exploration (TEX), Marine Service Technician, VIU Hairstylist Program, Dual Credit Courses offered through Camosun College, Technical Trades Training and Apprenticeships. SD63: LIST OF VIRTUAL POST SECONDARY INFO & EVENTS - There are so many virtual information sessions and events being offered by post-secondary institutions. The Saanich School District has a Careers page that is full of good information about various training and post-secondary opportunities. SAANICH SKILLS TRAINING APPRENTICESHIP & CARPENTRY PROGRAM is a full 3rd & 4th Quarter immersion program where students learn the basics of constructing a wood frame structure from the bare ground to the rooftop. This program blends both theoretical knowledge and practical application of skills and concepts related to the trade. Successful students transition directly to Camosun College for further training as Level One Carpentry Apprentices. Please see Ms. Hackman in the Career Centre for more information.
GRAD 2021
PARENT DRY GRAD COMMITTEE BOTTLE SORT DAY: We are having a "sort day" this Saturday Jan. 9th from 10-2. We have a LOT of recycling in the container that we would like to have sorted before the next official bottle drive on Jan. 23rd. We are asking that the grads (this is for you guys) and some parents show up on Saturday morning to help sort, even if it is only for an hour or so, we need 15-20 volunteers. This is a COVID aware, social distance sort. Please bring gloves and a mask, we will have a station for sanitizing hands. GRAD PORTRAIT RETAKES - January 20th - 22nd, 2021 - If you missed out on getting your grad portraits taken or if you were unhappy with your portraits, the Lifetouch portable studio will be returning to Stelly's for a few days on January 20th thru 22nd, 2021. You are now able to book an appointment by going on the Grad Portrait website: schedule.prestigeportraits.ca Sitting fee of $25 is due at the time of your appointment (but if you know you are not purchasing photos, no sitting fee is required, but we DO need you to have a photo taken for the yearbook).
