GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Today the CAFETERIA has the choice of Mediterranean Flat bread, Bacon Lettuce Tomato wrap, Greek Quinoa Salad, Potato Cheddar Perogies, Fettuccini Chicken Alfredo, Artisan Pizza or BBQ Pork and Veggies on Rice.  Come on down and check it out!

February is Black History Month and the theme for 2021 is "The Future is Now." Come to the Learning Commons and check out books on the many contributions and transformative works that Black people have made.

Reminder to Grade 12's... The Capstone presentation Schedule is now posted in the Career Centre and on the bulletin board outside Ms. Lizama's room or on Google classroom. 

REPORT CARDS: If you didn't pick up your Report Card Last week, drop by the main office.

MASKS: Reminder that masks are required at all times when students and staff are in hallways and washrooms.  Everyone's cooperation is much appreciated.

STUDENT PARKING: Reminder to all students who are parking in the student parking lot... you need to be registered. Parking forms are available in the Main Office.

VALENTINE"S CANDY GRAMS: Today at lunch is the Last day Leadership students will be selling Valentine's Candy Grams in the Main Foyer. Candy Grams are 50 cents each or 3 for $1.00. Candy Grams will be handed out on Tomorrow.

STUDENT ABSENCE OR LATE:  If a student will be absent or late for class, we ask that parents/guardians either email  stellys_attendance@saanichschools.ca or phone the Attendance Line 250-544-0300 to let the school know.  

JUST A REMINDER .... MORNING HOMEWORK HELP is available every morning from 7:15 am in room 156 and AFTER SCHOOL HOMEWORK HELP is every Monday through Thursday in the Learning Commons until 4pm.

JR GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: Any Jr Girls who played Volleyball this year ... Please come to the Gym at lunch on Thursday. We are taking a team picture for the yearbook. So come on down wearing your Volleyball gear!

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BECOMING A DOCTOR?   Earn your MD on Vancouver Island at the University of Victoria.  Island Medical Program (IMP) delivers the UBC MD Undergraduate Program in partnership with the University of Victoria & Island Health is offering an online Open house on Thursday, February 18, 2021 from 6:30 pm. – 8:00 pm.  At this special virtual evening information session, students will learn about the IMP and UBC MD Undergraduate Program, our admissions process, what it takes to become a doctor, and what it’s like being in medical school.  A Q&A period will follow the presentation.  Everyone is welcome (including guardians, teachers, and counsellors, and admission is free.  Simply go to https://imp.med.ubc.ca/infosessionfeb2021/

ALERT FIRST AID with CPR ”C” & AED - Online and in class - Friday, April 23, 2021 - 12:00 am to 4:00 pm in class @ SHOAL Centre in Sidney.  Cost is $50.00 - Cash, cheque or credit card is accepted.  4 hours online and 4.5 hours in-class course trains people how to react and improvise during time priority and life-threatening emergencies.  The online component covers care for adults, children, and babies. The classroom component will focus on developing the participant’s skills. The instructor will know that participants have completed the online component, and won’t spend as much time on the background information that is covered here.  Participants must successfully complete both the online and the classroom components to be certified in Emergency First-Aid with CPR C .  For more details see the Career Centre Info Board or the Saanich Career Education website.  Register now!
