GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Today the CAFETERIA has the choice of Hot Beef Tacos, Clubhouse on Ciabatta Bread, Chicken Brie & Walnut Salad, Butter Chicken Rice Bowl with Naan bread, Roasted Carrot & Spinach Ricotta stuffed Pasta, Thai Spiced Yam & Squash Soup or Pork Fried Rice.    Come on down and check it out!

It's Stelly's "Bee Kind" spirit week! Today's theme is "FUN SOCK DAY". Wear your crazy and fun looking socks today!  Tomorrow's theme is "COLOUR by GRADE"! Grade 9's are wearing Red, Grade 10's are wearing Purple, Grade 11's are wearing white and Grade 12's are wearing Green. And of course ... STAFF are wearing Blue! Let's see which stingers have the most spirit!!!

2021-22 COURSE SELECTION FORMS for current Stelly's students are due by March 2nd! Please hand into the Career Centre.  Don't delay, do it today!

STELLY’S HAS A FEW NEW ADDDITIONS TO THEIR CLOTHING LINE.. Check out the New Stelly's hoodies, shirts, and sweats! There is a link on the website to check out the new additions! 

BUBBLE TEA FUNDRAISER: Today the Victoria Youth for Change is hosting a Bubble Tea Fundraiser after school! Drinks are $6 each and can be ordered on the Stelly's website or through the grade specific google classroom. 100% of proceeds will be going towards Female Education programs in Ghana! 

OVERDUE BOOKS:  Did you know that there is over 176 overdue textbooks still out?  Please return your textbooks ASAP or see Ms. Kedves or Ms. Pacheco-McKinnon in the Learning Commons! 

STUDENT ABSENCE OR LATE:  If a student will be absent or late for class, we ask that parents/guardians either email  stellys_attendance@saanichschools.ca or phone the Attendance Line 250-544-0300 to let the school know.  

JUST A REMINDER .... MORNING HOMEWORK HELP is available every morning from 7:15 am in room 156 and AFTER SCHOOL HOMEWORK HELP is every Monday through Thursday in the Learning Commons until 4pm.

CLUBS

WANT TO TRY KAYAKING OR PADDLE BOARDING?  Stelly's Paddling Club is starting up again in March. Come to a meeting Tuesday at lunch in Rm 148 or talk to Ms. Matheson for more information.

MOUNTAIN BIKE CLUB: Stelly’s Mountain Bike Club is happening on Friday Feb. 26 at 1:30pm. Please let Colin Montgomery know if you are going.

ALERT FIRST AID with CPR ”C” & AED -  Online and in class - Friday, April 23, 2021 - 12:00 am to 4:00 pm in class @ SHOAL Centre in Sidney.  Cost is $50.00 - Cash, cheque or credit card is accepted.  4 hours online and 4.5 hours in-class course trains people how to react and improvise during time priority and life threatening emergencies.  The online component covers care for adults, children, and babies. The classroom component will focus on developing the participant’s skills. The instructor will know that participants have completed the online component, and won’t spend as much time on the background information that is covered  here.  Participants must successfully complete both the online and the classroom components to be certified in Emergency First-Aid with CPR C .  For more details see the Career Centre Info Board or the Saanich Career Education website.  Register now! PARENT DRY GRAD 2021 COMMITTEE BOTTLE DRIVE is happening this Saturday, February 27th from 9am-12pm at Stelly's School.  We need as many volunteers as possible as we have been gathering recycling all month.  Please consider volunteering for 1,2 or all 3 hours. Please bring a mask and gloves, we will have a sanitizing station also. This bottle drive is HUGE and is contributing lots to the year end event being planned out by all the parents. You can also drop your bottles off anytime throughout the year at one of the three Bottle Depots in Victoria (Glanford, Quadra and Queens) and ask for the funds to be added to the Stelly's Parent Grad Account. PARENTS/COMMUNITY

PENNINSULA YOUTH CLINIC is operating through Telehealth tonight from 5:30 - 7:30pm. Appointments with doctors or mental health workers are conducted by phone or video. Services are completely free and confidential in their judgement free zone for any medical concerns, to get prescriptions, or to speak with a counsellor. To make an appointment, call 250-656-4143.
