GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Today the CAFETERIA has the choice of a Cajun Chicken & Bacon Wrap, Grilled Lemon Thyme Chicken Flatbread, Mac & Cheese, Teriyaki Chicken Rice Bowl, Clubhouse Salad or Bacon & Green Bean Cream Soup with a biscuit.   Come on down and check it out!

2021-22 COURSE SELECTION FORMS for Stelly's students are due by Tomorrow, March 2nd! Please hand into the Career Centre.  Don't delay, do it today!

ALL STUDENTS INTERESTED IN TAKING MARINE BIOLOGY 11 NEXT YEAR… should attend a brief info. session at the start of lunch today. We will be talking about the course content, project options, potential field trips and topics about the ocean that you will be interested in, and you will get a chance to meet some of your classmates for next year.  Did you know that most students that will take Marine Biology 11 next year are grade 9 students who love science and biology?  Meet in Mr. Siebert's room --164- today at lunch.

PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS - This Thursday, March 4th from 5:15 to 7:30 pm.  Stelly's will be hosting our Quarter 3 Parent Teacher Interview night. We will be conducting all interviews either by phone, by email, or by a Microsoft Teams (Teams) remote video connection. Register now on our website!

OVERDUE BOOKS:  Did you know that there are over 176 overdue textbooks still out?  Please return your textbooks ASAP or see Ms. Kedves or Ms. Pacheco-McKinnon in the Learning Commons! 

STUDENT ABSENCE OR LATE:  If a student will be absent or late for class, we ask that parents/guardians either email  stellys_attendance@saanichschools.ca or phone the Attendance Line 250-544-0300 to let the school know.  

JUST A REMINDER .... MORNING HOMEWORK HELP is available every morning from 7:15 am in room 156 and AFTER SCHOOL HOMEWORK HELP is every Monday through Thursday in the Learning Commons until 4pm.

CLUBS

WANT TO TRY KAYAKING OR PADDLE BOARDING?  Stelly's Paddling Club is starting up again in March. Come to a meeting Tuesday at lunch in Rm 148 or talk to Ms. Matheson for more information.

CAREER CENTRE

ALERT FIRST AID with CPR ”C” & AED - Online and in class - Friday, April 23, 2021 - 12:00 am to 4:00 pm in class @ SHOAL Centre in Sidney.  Cost is $50.00 - Cash, cheque or credit card is accepted.  4 hours online and 4.5 hours in-class course trains people how to react and improvise during time priority and life-threatening emergencies.  The online component covers care for adults, children, and babies. The classroom component will focus on developing the participant’s skills. The instructor will know that participants have completed the online component, and won’t spend as much time on the background information that is covered here.  Participants must successfully complete both the online and the classroom components to be certified in Emergency First-Aid with CPR C .  For more details see the Career Centre Info Board or the Saanich Career Education website.  Register now! Do you shop at Thrifty's or Fairway's? You're half-way there to helping the Dry After Grad Parent Committee! We have Thrifty's "Smile Cards" and Fairway's Cards that you simply load with money, then use to shop at the store - the Dry Grad Committee gets 5% of money loaded onto the cards!  These cards can be given to neighbours, family, friends, grandparents, aunts, uncles who shop at these stores.  Need a card?  Email Michele @ mwake69@gmail.com!
