GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

TODAY THE CAFETERIA has the choice of a Bacon Chicken Jack cheese roasted Garlic and Arugula Flatbread, Oriental Chicken Wrap, Honey Mustard Chicken and Apple Salad, Shepherd's Pie, Cheese Tortellini with Garlic cream sauce & Focaccia or a Baked Turkey Quesadilla Casserole.   Come on down and check it out!

2021-22 COURSE SELECTION FORMS for Stelly's students were DUE TUESDAY! If you haven't submitted yours yet do it as soon as possible to the Career Centre!

PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS for Quarter 3 are happening tonight from 5:15 to 7:30 pm.  We will be conducting all interviews either by phone, by email, or by a Microsoft Teams (Teams) remote video connection. To sign up check out the Parent Teacher Interviews Button on our website.  Today will also be an early dismissal day for students at 2:05pm.

NUMERACY EXAM: Any students who are looking to re-write the numeracy or literacy exam in April, please sign up in the main office or see Mr. Braun. 

WATERLOO MATH CONTEST: Any students interested in writing a Waterloo Math contest in April....this is your last chance. Contests opportunities are: April 14th for Gr 9, 10, 11's and April 7th (Euclid contest) for Gr12's.  You must register with Mrs. Hilton in room 169 before Friday March 12th. 

STELLY'S HAS A FEW NEW ADDITIONS TO THEIR CLOTHING LINE ... Check out the New Stelly's hoodies, shirts, and sweats! There is a link on the website to check out the new additions! 

STUDENT PARKING: Reminder to all students who are parking in the student parking lot... you need to be registered. Parking forms are available in the Main Office.

STUDENT ABSENCE OR LATE:  If a student will be absent or late for class, we ask that parents/guardians either email  stellys_attendance@saanichschools.ca or phone the Attendance Line 250-544-0300 to let the school know.

DO YOU LOVE POETRY?  Would you like to work with professional poets?   Sign up for a free, 5-week online workshop. You will be led by Agartu Ali, the 2018 Victoria Youth Poet Laureate, and Shauntelle DC, the 2018 BC Hullabaloo Youth Slam individual champion. ALERT FIRST AID with CPR ”C” & AED - Online and in class - Friday, April 23, 2021 - 12:00 am to 4:00 pm in class @ SHOAL Centre in Sidney.  Cost is $50.00 - Cash, cheque or credit card is accepted.  4 hours online and 4.5 hours in-class course trains people how to react and improvise during time priority and life-threatening emergencies.  The online component covers care for adults, children, and babies. The classroom component will focus on developing the participant’s skills. The instructor will know that participants have completed the online component, and won’t spend as much time on the background information that is covered here.  Participants must successfully complete both the online and the classroom components to be certified in Emergency First-Aid with CPR C.  For more details see the Career Centre Info Board or the Saanich Career Education website.  Register now! DO YOU SHOP AT THRIFTY'S OR FAIRWAYS?? You are half-way there to helping the Dry After Grad Parent Committee! We have Thrifty's "Smile Cards" and Fairway's Cards that you simply load with money, then use to shop at the store - the Dry Grad Committee gets 5% of money loaded onto the cards!  These cards can be given to neighbours, family, friends, grandparents, aunts, uncles who shop at these stores.  Need a card?  Drop by the main office or Email Michele @ mwake69@gmail.com!

PARENT FUNDRAISER for STELLY'S STUDENT'S DRY AFTER GRAD 2021 is on! Bring your broken bracelets, chains, earrings, or any other gold items to the school office up until March 12th.  Clean out those jewelry boxes and drawers Help support the 2021 Dry After Grad! 

PARENT DRY GRAD 2021 COMMITTEE BOTTLE DRIVE is happening on Saturday, March 27th from 9am-12pm at Stelly's School.  We need as many volunteers as possible as we have been gathering recycling.  Please consider volunteering for 1,2 or all 3 hours. Please bring a mask and gloves, we will have a sanitizing station also. This bottle drive is HUGE and is contributing lots to the yearend event being planned out by all the parents. You can also drop your bottles off anytime throughout the year at one of the three Bottle Depots in Victoria (Glanford, Quadra and Queens) and ask for the funds to be added to the Stelly's Parent Grad Account. Thank You for your continued support!!

PENNINSULA YOUTH CLINIC is operating through Telehealth tonight from 5:30pm - 7:30pm.  Appointments with doctors or mental health workers are conducted by phone or video. Services are completely free and confidential for any medical concerns, to get prescriptions, or to speak with a counsellor.  To make an appointment, call 250-656-4143.
