GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

TODAY THE CAFETERIA has the choice of a Baked Brie Chicken Mango Salsa Flatbread, Toonie Wrap, Vietnamese Pork with Rice Noodles, Caesar Salad, Spaghetti Carbonara, Spicy Italian Sausage tomatoes & Pesto Wine Sauce on Bowtie Pasta or a Veggie Quesadilla.   Come on down and check it out!

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BEING A PART OF A GROUP TO DISCUSS MENTAL HEALTH AND SHARING IDEAS HOW WE CAN HELP SUPPORT OTHERS?  There will be a Virtual Youth Summit happening here at Stelly's right after Spring Break and we are looking for 10-15 students who could attend this Summit. Please see Colin Montgomery for more information and sign up to attend.

NUMERACY EXAM: Any students who are looking to re-write the numeracy or literacy exam in April, please sign up in the main office or see Mr. Braun. 

WATERLOO MATH CONTEST: Any students interested in writing a Waterloo Math contest in April....this is your last chance. Contest opportunities are: April 14th for Gr 9, 10, 11's and April 7th (Euclid contest) for Gr12's.  You must register with Mrs. Hilton in room 169 before this Friday March 12th. 

STUDENT PARKING: Reminder to all students who are parking in the student parking lot... you need to be registered. Parking forms are available in the Main Office.

STUDENT ABSENCE OR LATE:  If a student will be absent or late for class, we ask that parents/guardians either email  stellys_attendance@saanichschools.ca or phone the Attendance Line 250-544-0300 to let the school know.  

JUST A REMINDER .... MORNING HOMEWORK HELP is available every morning from 7:15 am in room 156 and AFTER SCHOOL HOMEWORK HELP is every Monday through Thursday in the Learning Commons until 4pm.

ALERT FIRST AID with CPR ”C” & AED - Online and in class - Friday, April 23, 2021 - 12:00 am to 4:00 pm in class @ SHOAL Centre in Sidney.  Cost is $50.00 - Cash, cheque or credit card is accepted.  4 hours online and 4.5 hours in-class course trains people how to react and improvise during time priority and life-threatening emergencies.  The online component covers care for adults, children, and babies. The classroom component will focus on developing the participant’s skills. The instructor will know that participants have completed the online component, and won’t spend as much time on the background information that is covered here.  Participants must successfully complete both the online and the classroom components to be certified in Emergency First-Aid with CPR C .  For more details see the Career Centre Info Board or the Saanich Career Education website.  Register now! SCHOLARSHIP MEETING is on Wednesday at lunch in the Learning Commons. All Grads Welcome.

GRAD 2021 Spring Plant Fundraiser: Please support our Grads of 2021 by purchasing a beautiful plant or set of plants of your choice. $5 from each plant sold will go to offset costs of graduation activities for the Grade 12 students. Pick up your form from the Grad board in the main foyer. Deadline for orders is April 16th! Pick up is May 4th…just in time for Mother’s Day! 

Hey Grads! There are two important forms for you to complete in the Grad 2021 Google Classroom before spring break. Please log in and complete these forms this week. There will be more information about end of year graduation events coming soon - Make sure you are checking Google Classroom often to stay informed.  Please see Mrs. Dildy (in room 165) if you need to be added to the Grad 2021 Google Classroom.

DO YOU SHOP AT FAIRWAYS?? You are half-way there to helping the Dry After Grad Parent Committee! We have Fairway's Cards that you simply load with money, then use to shop at the store - the Dry Grad Committee gets 5% of money loaded onto the cards!  These cards can be given to neighbours, family, friends, grandparents, aunts, uncles who shop at these stores.  Need a card?  Drop by the main office or Email Michele @ mwake69@gmail.com!

PAMPERED CHEF FUNDRAISER:  Help support the Dry After Grad Parent Committee! Our Pampered Chef Fundraiser runs until April 12th, 2021! PARENT DRY GRAD 2021 COMMITTEE BOTTLE DRIVE is happening on Saturday, March 27th from 9am-12pm at Stelly's School.  We need as many volunteers as possible as we have been gathering recycling. Please consider volunteering for 1, 2 or all 3 hours. Please bring a mask and gloves, we will have a sanitizing station also. This bottle drive is HUGE and is contributing lots to the yearend event being planned out by all the parents. You can also drop your bottles off anytime throughout the year at one of the three Bottle Depots in Victoria (Glanford, Quadra and Queens) and ask for the funds to be added to the Stelly's Parent Grad Account. Thank You for your continued support!!

PARENT INVOLVEMENT NIGHT:  This Thursday evening, March 11th is the School District's Parent Involvement Night virtual meeting. This is a new opportunity for all parents to connect on a district level. This will be a virtual meeting with the topic “What is Mental Health?”.
