ATTN GRADE 12s WITH MUSICAL TALENT! It is a tradition at Stelly’s to incorporate musical performances into the Recognition Ceremony. If you have a musical piece that is upbeat and celebration appropriate, then apply to audition. The online application is on the Grad Google classroom. Applications are due TODAY. Auditions take place April 14th and 16th. Talk to Mr. Ziegler if you have any questions!

STUDENT CAREER & WEBINAR FOR PARENTS – April 15 & 20 - WorkBC.ca is facilitating a one-hour interactive webinar to help parents and caregivers support youth as they explore career options. This virtual event is designed for parents of grade 9-12 students wanting to enhance their career coaching skills and gain exposure to WorkBC.ca tools to help with their youth’s career path. FOOD SAFE Level 1 COURSE - Thursday, April 22nd, 8:30-3:00. Cost is $25.00 (Cheques payable to SD #63) Located in the Stelly’s Dining Room (lunch will be provided) Food Safe Level 1 is a food handling, sanitation and work safety course designed for food service workers such as cooks, servers, bussers, dishwashers, and deli workers. The course covers important food safety and worker safety information including foodborne illness, receiving, and storing food, preparing food, serving food, cleaning, and sanitizing. CEANESSE KITCHEN LTD. is looking for part- or full-time workers in their shop over the summer! The duties would be wrapping parts for shipping and receiving, installing doors and drawer fronts on cabinets. There will also be an opportunity to learn some of the basic machinery. No experience is required as we train in house. Steel toed boots are required, a good attitude and we will provide everything else. Hours are 7:00 to 3:30 Monday to Friday, starting wage is $16 hour. BEACON COMMUNITY SERVICES is looking for students interested in Yard Work. They have already received some calls and as things start to bloom I know we will have more requests for yard work. Light yard work usually includes, lawn mowing, weeding and branch pick up. All jobs are required to pay at least minimum wage and some offer more. THEATRE SKAM seeks to employ up to 21 youth for the summer of 2021. Theatre SKAM is a Victoria, BC company, that has produced theatre in Victoria, nationally and internationally for 26 years. Positions are supported by the Canada Summer Jobs Grant and all positions are pending funding. Positions run for varying durations: from 8 – 18 weeks starting and ending between May 3rd to September 10th, depending on the position and the funding. Successful applicants often return to work for SKAM on future projects. Hourly wages range from $16/hour to $20/hour depending on the position. GRAD 2021 Spring Plant Fundraiser: Please support our Grads of 2021 by purchasing a beautiful plant or set of plants of your choice. $5 from each plant sold will go to offset costs of graduation activities for the Grade 12 students. Pick up your form from the Grad board in the main foyer. Deadline for orders is April 16th! Pick up is May 4th…just in time for Mother’s Day!
MAGIC WAND PROJECT - Magic Wand Project is a non-profit organization that offers an inexpensive and eco-friendly alternative to grad outfits for both girls and boys. This is a chance to borrow, rather than buy, a dress, suit or tux, (a small fee for cleaning is the only charge). All outfits are new or like-new, and all accessories are included. SCRAP METAL DRIVE: The Dry After Grad Parents Committee is hosting a Scrap Metal Drive starting on April 23rd thru April 25th, 2021. They will accept any scrap metal (except refrigerators). They will accept washers, dryers, lawn mowers, nails, window frames or even Old cars! All proceeds go to the After-Grad Celebration for the Stelly's Grads of 2021! GRAD GIFT CARD FUNDRAISER: The Dry After Grad Parent Committee is having another Gift Card fundraiser to raise money for the Grad class of 2021! Order forms are on the Grad board in the main foyer and the final day to submit your order form in the main office is April 23rd. Gift Cards will be delivered by April 30th.
DO YOU SHOP AT FAIRWAYS or Thrifty's?? You are half-way there to helping the Dry After Grad Parent Committee! We have Thrifty's & Fairway's Cards that you simply load with money, then use to shop at the store - the Dry Grad Committee gets 5% of money loaded onto the cards! These cards can be given to neighbours, family, friends, grandparents, aunts, uncles who shop at these stores. Need a card? Drop by the main office!
PARENT DRY GRAD 2021 COMMITTEE BOTTLE DRIVE is happening on Saturday, April 24th from 9am-12pm at Stelly's School. We need as many volunteers as possible as we have been gathering recycling. Please consider volunteering for 1, 2 or all 3 hours. Please bring a mask and gloves, we will have a sanitizing station also. This bottle drive is HUGE and is contributing lots to the year end event being planned out by all the parents. You can also drop your bottles off anytime throughout the year at one of the three Bottle Depots in Victoria (Glanford, Quadra and Queens) and ask for the funds to be added to the Stelly's Parent Grad Account. ATTN STELLY'S PARENTS OF GRAD 2022: The Stelly's 2022 Parents After Grad Committee is looking for a lead person (or people) to run the longest fundraiser the after grad committee has going on – the Bottle drop off is at Stelly’s every 4th Saturday in the Stelly’s parking lot. The current leads are excited to train up next year’s coordinators in April and May, then June is the start of the 2022 fundraising. It is a monthly commitment from 9:00-12:00, from June 2021 to May 2022 and you would have a team to help you out.
