GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

TODAY THE CAFETERIA has the choice of a Grilled Ham Jack Cheese Artichoke & Pepper Panini, California Wrap, Spinach Chef Salad, Mac & Cheese, Won Ton Soup or Kung Pow Chicken on Rice.   Come on down and check it out!

The last day for cafeteria service this quarter is Tomorrow. We are having a Pizza Sale on Wednesday from the cafeteria. $2.50 a slice ... come on down and check it out!

Global Perspectives 11 is running a Trivia Contest this Tuesday in celebration of Earth Day. Pick up a trivia card from the front foyer tomorrow morning before class and answer it by visiting the 5 compost stations around the school. When you've got a full card, return to the front foyer before class or at lunch and trade it in for an Earth Day prize.

Leadership is running a Survivor Challenge in Quarter 4 … look in your grade wide google classroom to sign up.

REMINDER TO CLC STUDENTS (especially Gr 12’s):  When you have completed your 30 hours of Work Experience or Volunteering, ask your employer or volunteer coordinator to confirm your hours!  Forms are available in the Career Centre!  Return completed forms to Mrs. Jackson in the Career Centre

STUDENT ABSENCE OR LATE:  If a student will be absent or late for class, we ask that parents/guardians either email  stellys_attendance@saanichschools.ca or phone the Attendance Line 250-544-0300 to let the school know.  

JUST A REMINDER .... MORNING HOMEWORK HELP is available every morning from 7:15 am in room 156 and AFTER SCHOOL HOMEWORK HELP is every Monday through Thursday in the Learning Commons until 4pm.

STUDENT CAREER & WEBINAR FOR PARENTS – April 20th  -  WorkBC.ca is facilitating a one-hour interactive webinar to help parents and caregivers support youth as they explore career options. This virtual event is designed for parents of grade 9-12 students wanting to enhance their career coaching skills and gain exposure to WorkBC.ca tools to help with their youth’s career path. Webinar runs on April 20. EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES:

CEANESSE KITCHEN LTD.  is looking for part or full time workers in their shop over the summer!  The duties would be wrapping parts for shipping and receiving, installing doors and drawer fronts on cabinets.  There will also be an opportunity to learn some of the basic machinery.  No experience is required as we train in house. Steel toed boots are required, a good attitude and we will provide everything else. GRAD 2021

GRADS!! A reminder that this Wednesday, April 21st, is the deadline to submit your application for Valedictorian and Emcee. Don't forget to also share your Speaking Role Nominations Google doc with Ms. Batham and all of your nominators.  A reminder that all Grads need to pay their fees and return their overdue textbooks and library books by April 21st.

MAGIC WAND PROJECT - Magic Wand Project is a non-profit organization that offers an inexpensive and eco-friendly alternative to grad outfits for both girls and boys. This is a chance to borrow, rather than buy, a dress, suit or tux, (a small fee for cleaning is the only charge). All outfits are new or like-new, and all accessories are included. PARENT COMMITTEE for  GRAD 2021 FUNDRAISERS

SCRAP METAL DRIVE:  The Parent Committee for Grad 2021 is hosting a Scrap Metal Drive starting on April 23rd thru April 25th, 2021.  They will accept any scrap metal (except refrigerators). They will accept washers, dryers, lawn mowers, nails, window frames or even Old cars!. All proceeds go to the After Grad Celebration for the Stelly's Grads of 2021!  Drop off hours at Stelly's Parking Lot is: April 23rd   4pm-8pm, April 24th  9am-3pm, April 25th  9am-3pm. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for the Scrap Metal Drive ... Please  contact Nancy @ gnw2330@telus.net 

GRAD GIFT CARD FUNDRAISER: The Parent Committee for Grad 2021 is having another Gift Card fundraiser to raise money for the Grad class of 2021! Order forms are on the Grad board in the main foyer and the final day to submit your order form in the main office is Friday, April 23rd. Gift Cards will be delivered by April 30th.

DO YOU SHOP AT FAIRWAYS or THRIFTY’S?? You are half-way there to helping the Parent Committee for Grad 2021! We have Thrifty's & Fairway's Cards that you simply load with money, then use to shop at the store - the Committee gets 5% of money loaded onto the cards!  These cards can be given to neighbours, family, friends, grandparents, aunts, uncles who shop at these stores.  Need a card?  Drop by the main office!

PARENT COMMITTEE for GRAD 2021 BOTTLE DRIVE is happening on Saturday, April 24th from 9am-12pm at Stelly's School.  This is the second to last bottle drive for this grad class, 2021,  as we will be passing this onto the parents and grads of 2022 in June. We need as many volunteers as possible as we have been gathering recycling. Please consider volunteering for 1, 2 or all 3 hours. Please bring a mask and gloves, we will have a sanitizing station also. This bottle drive is HUGE and is contributing lots to the year end grad event parents are helping with. You can also drop your bottles off anytime throughout the year at one of the three Bottle Depots in Victoria (Glanford, Quadra and Queens) and ask for the funds to be added to the Stelly's Parent Grad Account. Thank You for your continued support!!

ATTN STELLY'S PARENTS OF GRAD 2022:  The Stelly's 2022 Parents After Grad Committee is looking for a lead person (or people) to run the longest fundraiser the after grad committee has going on – the Bottle drop off is at Stelly’s every 4th Saturday in the Stelly’s parking lot.  The current leads are excited to train up next year’s coordinators in April and May, then June is the start of the 2022 fundraising.   It is a monthly commitment from 9:00-12:00, from June 2021 to May 2022 and you would have a team to help you out.  Send me an email if you are interested in helping out in
