TODAY THE CAFETERIA has the choice of Cheese Burger with Roasted Garlic Aioli on Focaccia, Chicken Caesar Wrap, Taco Salad, French Fries, Veggie Coconut Curry on Rice Noodles, Bowtie Pasta with Chicken Velouté Sauce & Veggies or Spaghetti Carbonara with a biscuit.   Come on Down and check it out!

STELLY'S SENIOR DRAMA CLASS presents “The Outsiders” based on the classic novel by S.E. Hinton. The Musical runs from May 25th thru May 27th in the MPR at 7pm. Doors open at 6:30pm and tickets are $10 and available in the Main Office.

ATTN ALL GRADUATING FRENCH IMMERSION STUDENTS ... Please stop by the office and pick up your small token of congratulations from the Canadian Parents for French.

SCHOOL BUS REGISTRATION for 2022-2023 - Registration is now open for students to ride the school bus for the next 2022-2023 school year.  Students must be registered with SD63 Transportation Department and hold a current year bus pass in order to ride on the bus.  Registration is on-line, and you will need the following information when registering: Student Name, School, Grade, Student Number. Registration is on the SD#63 website. Registration will close June 15, 2022.

STUDENT PARKING: REMINDER to all students who are parking in the student parking lot... you need to be registered. Parking forms are available in the Main Office. 

STUDENT ABSENCE OR LATE:  If a student will be absent or late for class, we ask that parents/guardians either email  stellys_attendance@saanichschools.ca or phone the Attendance Line 250-544-0300 to let the school know.

HOMEWORK HELP: Before School Homework help is at 7:15am in Room 46 and After School Homework Help is in the Learning Commons 4 days a week Monday thru Thursday until 4:00 pm for Math and Science. Tuesdays and Thursdays are for support with English and Social Studies.

ATHLETICS

Dodgeball Intramurals - Sign up your team of 5-6 by May 27th. Games will take place at lunch May 30th, June 1st & June 3rd.  Spectators welcome but no food allowed in the gym!

CAREER CENTRE

SIDNEY EMPLOYMENT EXPO is happening TODAY from 1pm to 4pm at the Mary Winspear Center.  - Explore part-time job opportunities - Gain valuable experience and confidence in talking to employers - Take part in the Resume Bootcamp station - Explore career options - Gain insight into the local labour market. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

GRAD 2022

REMINDER to Grads ... If you haven't handed in your GRAD FORMS YET ... DO SO ASAP!! They are PAST DUE!

We have more District Authority Scholarships than applications!   If you would still like to apply to receive a $1250 tuition voucher (valid for 5 yrs.), please create an application package and return to Mrs. Laws in the Office by Friday, May 27th!  Complete details on the Stelly's Scholarship website or see Mrs. Laws.

Mandatory Grad Rehearsals are at lunch in the Large Gym on Thursday June 16. Also, on Friday, May 27th we are heading to UVIC to do the final Rehearsal.  Please put these dates in your calendar and do not miss these important rehearsals!!

MAGIC WAND PROJECT ... Why buy a Grad Tux or Dress when you can borrow one?  The Magic Wand offers an inexpensive and eco-friendly alternative to grad outfits for both girls and boys. This is a chance to borrow, rather than buy, a dress, suit or tux, (a small fee for cleaning is the only charge). All outfits are new or like-new, and all accessories are included. GRAD 2022 BOTTLE DRIVE is happening on Saturday, May 28th from 9am-12pm at Stelly's School.  Please consider volunteering for 1, 2 or all 3 hours. Please bring a mask and gloves, we will have a sanitizing station also. This bottle drive is HUGE and is contributing lots to the year end grad 2022 event parents are helping with. You can also drop your bottles off anytime throughout the year at one of the three Bottle Depots in Victoria (Glanford, Quadra and Queens) and ask for the funds to be added to the Stelly's Parent Grad Account. 

INTERNATIONAL

HOST FAMILIES NEEDED:  Saanich International Student Program (SISP) is actively looking for new Host Families for our International students joining us at the end of August 2022.  Make lifelong friendships, provide a student with a home away from home and share the beauty of your community!  If you are interested in this opportunity, host families are provided:

·      $975 per month per student (students must have their own bedroom)

SAANICH PENNINSULA YOUTH CLINIC is operating through Telehealth TONIGHT from 5:30pm - 7:30pm.  Appointments with doctors or mental health workers are conducted by phone or video. Services are completely free and confidential for any medical concerns, to get prescriptions, or to speak with a counsellor.
