TODAY THE CAFETERIA has the choice of a Grilled Ham & Cheese Sandwich, Thai Beef Fried Rice, Meat Tortellini in a cheese sauce, Chicken Coconut Curry Rice, Chicken Caesar Salad or Fusilli & Cheese Sauce with a biscuit.  Come on Down and check it out!

AN EVENING OF PERFORMING ARTS is happening next Thursday June 16th at 7pm with performances from our Dance, JR Musical Theatre, Choir and Vocal Jazz Singers. Doors open at 6:30 and admission is by donation! See you there!

Would you be interested in taking a Standard First Aid Course at Stelly’s on June 23rd and 24th with Panorama Recreation? There will be cost, TBA!  Certification is needed to apply for jobs at Panorama Recreation.  Sign up in the Career Centre

Grade 11 parents ... The grade 12 parents would like to invite you to our last After grad meeting of this year to help you get started on your 2023 grad year.  Our meeting will be June 15 at 7:00 pm in the Learning Commons at Stelly’s.  You are welcome to come sit through the meeting, or you can come at 8:15ish and I can then provide an overview of what we have done for our 2022 grad class so you can be thinking about your grad year next year.  It is helpful fundraising wise to have an early start in the school year.   Thanks, Darcy Winkel (dmwinkel@shaw.ca)

SCHOOL BUS REGISTRATION for 2022-2023 - Registration is now open for students to ride the school bus for the next 2022-2023 school year.  Students must be registered with SD63 Transportation Department and hold a current year bus pass in order to ride on the bus.  Registration is on-line, and you will need the following information when registering: Student Name, School, Grade, Student Number. Registration is on the SD#63 website. Registration will close June 15, 2022.

STUDENT ABSENCE OR LATE:  If a student will be absent or late for class, we ask that parents/guardians either email  stellys_attendance@saanichschools.ca or phone the Attendance Line 250-544-0300 to let the school know.

HOMEWORK HELP: Before School Homework help is at 7:15am in Room 46 and After School Homework Help is in the Learning Commons 4 days a week Monday thru Thursday until 4:00 pm for Math and Science. Tuesdays and Thursdays are for support with English and Social Studies.

CLUBS

INDIGENOUS LEADERSHIP meets today at lunch in Room 33. We are going to discuss Indigenous Peoples Day. See you there!

CAREER CENTRE

WORK EXPERIENCE 12A/12B registration deadline is FRIDAY, June 17th!  If you have a job or are volunteering and are wanting to receive Work Experience credits over the summer, you must be registered by June 17th to receive credit for your summer hours!!  See the Career Centre to register ASAP!

PACIFIC DESIGN ACADEMY is hosting an Open House on Thursday, June 23rd @ 6:00 pm (Pacific Design Academy, 1252 Wharf Street).  Come learn about their fantastic programs and tour the school.  This is a great opportunity to ask questions about the school and to see all of the amazing work PDA students have done this year! See the Saanich Career Education website at https://careered.sd63.bc.ca/

GRAD 2022

UBC’s French Program is offering a $3,000 French as a Second Language (FSL) Bursary for students who will be starting their first year at UBC during the 2022-23 academic year.  French Immersion program students who are interested in continuing their studies in French at the university level could be reminded of this opportunity one last time before the summer break.  If you have any questions, please contact Min Ji Kang at fhis.undergrad@ubc.ca.  ABOUT THE BURSARY: This bursary program, which is administered by the Association des collèges et universités de la francophonie canadienne (ACUFC), aims to encourage a greater number of young English-speaking Canadians to become bilingual, while studying in their field of interest.
