On Friday April 8th, Stelly's MPR was host to a Grade 9 Presentation of Learning Assembly. This assembly featured three presentations. First was Sierra Dean, a grade 9 Stelly's student and Canadian Master Archer. She gave an archery presentation and talked about training, diet and equipment specific to her sport. Second was Charolette Helton, also a grade 9 Stelly's student, who has a variety of interests that range from tide-pooling to kite-surfing. She shared a recently completed research project on the Milky Way, and highlighted the use of a new presentation program called PREZI. Third was Jordon Dagg and Trevor Blair, who are both employees and managers at Schneider Electric. They are also coaches in our community and have extensive backgrounds in teaching students from elementary school to university. They spoke about teamwork and the importance of knowing your strengths, developing effective communication skills and academic and extracurricular involvement as ways to enrich student's lives and career options. Thank you to our three presenters and to Mr. Lacy and Mr. Siebert for organizing this unique opportunity.
