The University of Victoria is inviting Parents and Graduating students to their Annual Mental Health Awareness Event on

January 18, 2017 from 4:30pm-6:30pm in Bob Wright Centre B150

UVIC is inviting parents and grads to attend the event to engage students on this important topic of Mental Health. This free event features keynote speaker Kevin Breel, a comedian and mental health activist with over 4 million views on his viral TED talk; a community update on the various mental health initiatives happening on campus; and a special story-telling performance by UVic students. Complimentary refreshments will be provided at a pre-event reception featuring information booths from various campus and community organizations at 4:00pm in the Bob Wright Center lobby.

Students, faculty, staff and community members are invited to join in this important discussion on mental health as it aims to raise awareness and decrease stigma surrounding mental health while providing strategies for maintaining mental wellness. Discussions on mental health are especially important as 1 in 5 Canadians report experiencing some form of mental health challenges in any given year*.
