GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

SCHOOL STORE IS OPEN all week at lunch! Come get your school swag!

NO BREAKFAST CLUB on Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday this week!

CANADIAN UNIVERSITIES EVENT - OCT 5th   Any Grade 12 student interested in attending the Canadian Universities Event on Thursday at Parkland, please pick up a field trip permission form from the Career Centre and return it by the end of today.

COFFEE CONCERT: The 1st Stelly's Coffee Concert of the year is next Wednesday, October 11th at 7pm. Auditions are being held on Wednesday and Friday after school this week! Sign up sheet is posted on outside the band room

ATHLETICS

JR GIRLS BASKETBALL OPEN GYM: Are you a grade 9/10 junior girl who is interested in basketball? There are open gyms on Wednesday's at 5 pm in the small gym. They are not mandatory just an opportunity to play some basketball.

artsREACH Youth Council Volunteer Opportunity

Are you in grades 10 – 12 and have a passion for the arts? artREACH is forming a Youth Council to volunteer 4 hours each month at our community events. Only 10 members will be accepted for the 2017/18 school year See the Career Centre Job Board for more information

INTERNATIONAL:

SISP Whistler Ski Trip - December 6th – 8th Forms are available in the International Office. Cost $525  Last day to Sign-up is Thursday, October 5, 2017.

PARENTS:

P.A.C MEETING Tuesday, October 3rd at 7pm in the Learning Commons:

Stellys P.A.C is the organized voice of parents on matters relating to your student's secondary education. The aims and objectives of the organization are:

      1. To work in an advisory capacity with the school principal and staff toward the improvement of school programs, policies, activities and facilities.

      2. To serve as a forum for the discussion of matters of interest or concern to the school, parents and students.

      3. To assist parents in accessing the system and to advocate on behalf of parents and students.

      4. To foster good relations between Stelly’s Secondary School and the community.

      5. To fulfill the requirements of the BC School Act, Section 8 and School District #63 Parent Involvement Policy 1100.

All parents/guardians are entitled to be members and are encouraged to attend PAC meetings, school events, and volunteer in support of students.

Our meetings take place on the second Tuesday of each month between September and June (generally except December and March). Meetings start at 7 PM. in the school's Learning Commons.

If you are interested in volunteering this year please be in touch and we can let you know what is involved. We still do have a couple of positions available - commitment level is about 1 to 2 hours per month.
