GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Dropping a Semester 1 Class?
The last day for students to drop a semester 1 course is FRIDAY December 22nd.  Forms are available in the Career Centre.  After Dec. 22, students will not be allowed to drop a Semester 1 class.

Holiday Candy Grams: Candy Grams are on sale at lunch in the main foyer. Come order a candy gram for your best friends, favourite teacher or for a special someone. Candy grams are $2 each and will be distributed Dec 21.

SCHOOL BUS PASSES: School District Bus passes have arrived and are available in the office for pick up. All riders will need passes to ride the school district buses.  

CHRISTMAS FOOD HAMPERS: Stelly's Food Hamper Drive starts this week and runs through December 15th. Donation boxes are in every classroom. We are looking for donations of non-perishable food, cash or gift cards for needy families in our community.

CRAM THE CRUISER TOY DRIVE: The Cram the Cruiser toy drive starts today and runs until Dec 15th, 2017. Our school is working with Central Saanich Police to bring in new toys for children 2-12 so that all our local kids will have a gift to wake up to on Christmas morning. Please bring in a new toy or maybe bring in  a dollar or two to buy a gift as a class.

HAIRSTYLIST Apprenticeship to start in February 2018

Do you LOVE hair? Have you ever considered a career as a Hairstylist?? Are you a social person that likes people, enjoys being a team player that is motivated with a positive attitude. Hairstylist apprenticeships provide you with the training and qualifications you need to work in the aesthetics and beauty industry. Available to grade 10-11-12 students. Interested? Dogwood Tree Service is looking to hire a Grade 10 student who would like to learn the tree service business from the ground up with the potential for an Arborist or Horticultural Apprenticeship. Initial duties would include washing trucks, cleaningand maintenance of chainsaws and related equipment Saturdays 6-8 hours - $11.35 hour More hours available during spring break and summer vacations. Peden RV is looking for a junior technician that they can train and will grow with their company. Duties would include on job training in inspections, repairs, mechanical, and detailing.   Driver’s license is desirable but not mandatory. This would be a great starting point for someone who is looking to enter a trade as a Recreation Vehicle Service Technician. GRAD 2018

GRADS if you missed the Grad Meeting last week, stop by the counselling office to find out what info you missed and pick up your Grad picture proofs!

GRAD SOCK AND LANYARD ORDERS: The deadline for socks and lanyards has been pushed back to December 18th.

GRADS:  Make sure you fill out the Grad Yearbook Write up and Grad Ceremony Slide show google doc. See the Grad Forum or Grad website for the link

INTERNATIONAL:

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: All International students planing to travel overnight or do any day travel out of town over the winter break must submit applications by WEDNESDAY December 13th.

The last 2017 meeting of the All Night Dry Grad Committee is TONIGHT.  We would love to see everyone so we can share the information we have gathered so far, where we need help, ways to help, or find a spot where you would like to help. All parents are welcome at 7pm, in the Learning Commons.
