GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

"THE LITTLE MERMAID" : Tickets are still available the Sr. Musical production of "The Little Mermaid" through the main office! Opening night is Wednesday! Don't miss out on this amazing production!

CAFETERIA CLOSURE: Last Day of Cafeteria Service is Wednesday! Pizza Sale at lunch on Thursday & Friday. $2.50 a slice

2nd SEMESTER TIMETABLES will be handed out on Friday at the end of Block 1.

EXAM WEEK – JAN 22-26 - The exam schedule is now posted outside the main office and on the website. Please make sure you are aware of where and when your exams are. If you have a scheduling conflict, please see your teachers to make alternate arrangements as soon as possible.

BUS PASSES: New Bus Passes have arrived and are available in the office!

REMINDER that there is only one more week of classes left in Semester 1..... so if you need to get caught up on any work or need any extra help ...drop by the Learning Commons in the morning starting at 7:30am and after school until 4pm.

AN EVENING OF PERFORMING ARTS:  Stelly's Performing Arts department presents "An Evening of Performing Arts on January 26th at 7pm. Performances by Dance, Vocal Jazz and musical Theatre classes. Tickets available from the main office. Adults $7.00, $5.00 Students

CAREER CENTRE

TEAC 105 COURSE - Explorations in Technology

You can now register for the FEBRUARY TEAC session, the program runs Fridays, 3-6 pm - February through May. This dual-credit course provides current high school students with an introduction to careers in Computer Science, Electronic and Computer Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. See the Counselling Office for more info.

BASICS OF FINANCE - "Credits & Loans: Course January 27th - 10 am–11:30 am - FREE!

SHOAL Centre, 10030 Resthaven Drive, Sidney. In this session you will learn all about credit cards and pre-paid cards and loans, the advantages and disadvantages, what to look for and how to calculate the “real” cost of a loan.

FREE  RETAIL TRAINING

Brentwood Bay -  February 4, 11, 18 and 25 -  10:00 - 4:00 pm

This certificate program prepares you for first time work experiences in retail and many other work environments.  You will be treated as an employee and you will be working alongside a busy team of staff members. You will have training in: Working a cash register and counting cash - Customer service - Creating displays - Sorting inventory - Assisting with pricing - Opening & closing procedures. Volunteer at the Brentwood Bay Thrift Shop

Brentwood Thrift Shop is looking for a volunteer on Saturdays,

7105-B West Saanich Road, Shifts are 10:00 am - 1:00 pm or 1:00 pm - 4:00pm

Volunteers help at the cash register, sorting, pricing and customer service

This is a great opportunity to gain more experience working in retail

GRAD TRANSITIONS
Grads get your Grad Transition done now before crunch time! Grad Transition Interview day is Tuesday, April 17th.   If you have intentions of graduating early see Ms Jackson in the career centre. Grad Transition information and forms are available from the Career Centre or website. Remember, GT is a graduation requirement.
