MONDAY, JANUARY 29th – Non-Instructional Day – No Classes in Session


TUESDAY, JANUARY 30th – Semester 2 commences. Classes begin at 8:30am


AN EVENING OF PERFORMING ARTS:  Stelly's Performing Arts department presents "An Evening of Performing Arts tonight at 7pm. Performances by Dance, Vocal Jazz and musical Theatre classes. Tickets available from the main office and at the door. Adults $7.00, $5.00 Students


TEXTBOOKS, TEXTBOOKS, TEXTBOOKS:

REMINDER to RETURN YOUR TEXTBOOKS ASAP! Students who have outstanding textbooks from 1st semester will not be issued textbooks for 2nd semester until they are returned!


NEW STUDENTS for SEMESTER 2
If you are a student starting at Stelly's for semester 2, please come to the office to get an important form to allow you to open a Google Student Account for your school work.

BASICS OF FINANCE - "Credits & Loans: Course Jan. 27th   10:00 am–11:30 am - FREE!

At the SHOAL Centre, 10030 Resthaven Drive, Sidney. In this session you will learn all about credit cards and pre-paid cards and loans, the advantages and disadvantages, what to look for and how to calculate the “real” cost of a loan.


Resume Workshop - January 29th - FREE

Polish up an existing resume or create your first resume 9:00 - 12:00, Getting started on your resume 1:00 - 4:00, Polish up your existing resume. Get help from Beacon’s own employment counselling professional!  At the SHOAL Centre, 10030 Resthaven Drive, Sidney. Register for the morning, the afternoon or the entire day! NEW COURSE OFFERED FOR SEMESTER 2: School Based and Dual Credit Trades course.  There are 2 Parts to this  program for 4-16 credits

Part 1: “Tool Time” (with Tim): Arouse your spirit of inventiveness and develop confidence and competence as you become an expert at using a wide array of hand and power tools as well as stationary equipment in a fun and safe setting. Tool timid? You’ll get over your inhibitions as you experience success using all sorts of new tools. Bit of a tool expert? Take it to the next level and enhance your skills by creating and building cool artifacts with your new found expertise. 

Students who successfully complete this course will not only have a wealth of new skills and knowledge, but they will earn 4 credits for a “dual credit” college level course for the online learning component as well as a 4-credit Tech Ed course.  The dual credit college course also serves as a prerequisite to Camosun College’s NEW Marine Industry TASk Program (running this summer) as well as meeting the common core tool competencies for Camosun College’s Plumbing and Pipe Trades Foundation program and the Electrical Foundation program.  Upgrade your skills and qualifications as well as acquiring valuable life skills by enrolling in Tool Time with Tech Ed teacher, Tim Lockhart in second semester. GRAD BOTTLE & SHREDDING FUNDRAISER – SATURDAY

Grad Bottle Drive this Saturday from 9am to Noon. Grad Shredding Fundraiser 10am - noon. Both are in the Stelly's Parking lot. All proceeds are put towards the Stelly's 2018 Dry After Grad. Thank you for your continued support!
