CANADIAN UNIVERSITIES EVENT: Tomorrow the Canadian Universities Event is happening at Stelly's in the Large Gym from 1-3pm. Universities and Colleges from across Canada will be attending and providing information on progams, entrance requirements etc. Great chance to see what post secondary options are out there!
MEET THE TEACHER - Thursday, September 27th
Come out and meet our staff on Thursday,September 27th at the Meet the teacher BBQ starting at 4:45pm. Following the BBQ at 5:30 pm we will meet at the entrance of the school for the Unveiling ceremony of a "welcome Sign Carving". At 6pm we will meet in the MPR with a Welcome address from our principal followed by a rotation of your students class schedule starting at 6:30pm. Please join us!
ORANGE SHIRT DAY: On September 28, students and staff are encouraged to wear orange shirts to show respect for residential school survivors and their families.
BUS PASSES: School District Bus Passes are now available for pick up in the main office!
HOMEWORK HELP: Need any help with your homework? Extra Help is available every morning from 7:15amin the Learning Commons or after school Monday/Tuesday and Thursday! Check it out!
EUROPE 2019: Are you interested in visiting Europe on Spring Break? There will be a tour to London, Paris, Florence and Rome in March, 2019. If you would like more information, please see Ms Liberatore in room 144 or email at tliberatore@saanichschools.ca
STUDENT PARKING: Reminder to all students who are driving cars to school: all cars must be registered if you are parking in the student parking lot. Please come to the office to pick up your registration form.

WORK EXPERIENCE 12A/12B - Reminder that the Work Experience 12A / 12B registration deadline is September 28th! If you have a job or are volunteering and are wishing to receive Work Experience credits for this year, you must be registered by September 28th to receive credit for your hours!! This time can also count toward your grade 12 Grad Transition requirement.See Mr. Rhodes in the Career Centre to register ASAP!

Day Sail on a Royal Canadian Navy Warship Activities include tours of ship duty stations, crew quarters and operational equipment; Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) joint search and rescue demonstration, ship firefighting simulation, and demonstration of the warship’s impressive manoeuvring capabilities. Lunch will be provided. Minimum age – 12 years. Food Safe Level 1 - Friday, October 19th, 2018 - (Pro-D Day)- 8:30 am to 4:30 pm - at the SHOAL Centre in Sidney - 10030 Resthaven Drive - Cost is $50. Food Safe is useful for anyone working or wishing to work in the food service, food retail, or food processing industries. You will learn how to handle food safely in order to prevent food from being contaminated.

Pendray Farms Corn Maze
On SATURDAY September 29, Pendray Farms Corn Maze is teaming up with Saanich Peninsula Lions Food Bank: with a donation of a non-perishable food item, 1 child per family will be given free entry to the maze that day. Pendray Farms is at 9537 West Saanich Road, North Saanich.
