GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

PAC MEETING- Oct 2nd - The first PAC meeting of the year is happening next Tuesday, Oct 2nd at 7pm in the Learning Commons. All Parents/guardians are welcome to attend!

CLUBS AT STELLY"S - Did you miss signing up for a club on clubs day?  It's not too late to get involved and have some fun.  Check out the school website.  There's a new quick link button to a list of the clubs and sponsor teachers at our school.  Contact the teacher directly for more information.  If you don't see the club you want, talk to Mrs Wallace in room 108 to see if we can make it happen this year.  Sponsor teachers, remember to update your club's meeting times, please.

REFERENDUM PRESENTATION:  Have you heard about the referendum?  Even if you can't vote yet, the results of this vote will affect you.  On Tuesday, Oct 2 in blocks 1, 2, and lunch, a guest speaker from Fair Vote BC will be here to explain it all.  If you are interested, talk to your teacher or come to the Learning Commons at lunch.   Staff members and parents are also welcome!

HOMEWORK HELP:  Need any help with your homework? Extra Help is available every morning from 7:15amin the Learning Commons or after school Monday/Tuesday and Thursday! Check it out!

STUDENT PARKING
Reminder to all students who are driving cars to school:  all cars must be registered if you are parking in the student parking lot.  Please come to the office to pick up your registration form. 

CLUBS

MODEL UN MEETING at lunch today in Rm 70

YOUTH IN ACTION: The Youth In Action club will have its' first meeting this Friday, Oct 5 at lunch in room 108.  Whether you signed up at clubs day or not, please join us as we begin planning for the fun, social justice activities we'll do this year.  Bring your lunch and a friend and help us as we help others.  See Mrs Wallace in room 108  for more information.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITES

Brentwood Bay Village Emporium is looking for an energetic, conscientious weekend kitchen support person. This is a 1:30pm - 6pm shift on Saturdays with the possibility of other weekend and after-class shifts. Duties include dishwashing, bussing tables, restocking supplies, cleaning and assisting with kitchen prep. The hourly wage is $12.75 plus tip sharing and staff discounts. GRAD PARENT INFO NIGHT - OCT 11th

COMMUNITY

SCOUTS CANADA: The 10th Tsartlip Ventures (Scouts Canada program for boys and girls aged 14-18) have developed their outdoor plan for 2018-2019.  Their focus this year is on camping and day hikes.  The Venturers are not meeting every week; they normally meet to plan their outdoor activities such as camps or hikes.  If you would like a summary of the Venturer program or have any questions, please email 10tsartlip@victoriascouts.ca.  We can put you in touch with a Venturer who attends Stelly’s.

Saanich Career Education presents "Parents as Informed Partners" at the Mary Winspear Centre in Sidney on Thursday, Oct. 4th at 7:00 pm.
