CLUBS AT STELLY"S - Did you miss signing up for a club on clubs day? It's not too late to get involved and have some fun. Check out the school website. There's a new quick link button to a list of the clubs and sponsor teachers at our school. Contact the teacher directly for more information. If you don't see the club you want, talk to Mrs Wallace in room 108 to see if we can make it happen this year. Sponsor teachers, remember to update your club's meeting times, please.

BOOK CLUB: Meeting on Thursday at lunch in Room 114. Come along and pick the books we will read together this school year. Even if you didn't sign up, you're welcome to join us.
YOUTH IN ACTION: The Youth In Action club will have its' first meeting this Friday, Oct 5 at lunch in room 108. Whether you signed up at clubs day or not, please join us as we begin planning for the fun, social justice activities we'll do this year. Bring your lunch and a friend and help us as we help others. See Mrs Wallace in room 108 for more information.

HAIRSTYLIST APPRENTICESHIP - starting February 2019
Do you LOVE hair? Have you ever considered a career as a Hairstylist?? Are you a social person that likes people, enjoys being a team player that is motivated with a positive attitude? Hairstylist apprenticeships provide you with the training and qualifications you need to work in the aesthetics and beauty industry. Available to grade 10-11-12 students. Interested? EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITES
Brentwood Bay Village Emporium is looking for an energetic, conscientious weekend kitchen support person. This is a 1:30pm - 6pm shift on Saturdays with the possibility of other weekend and after-class shifts. Duties include dishwashing, bussing tables, restocking supplies, cleaning and assisting with kitchen prep. The hourly wage is $12.75 plus tip sharing and staff discounts. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Island Health and Saanich Peninsula Hospital have volunteer opportunities; This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in the Health Care Assistance Program. Duties would include helping with music and memories program - moving residents in wheelchairs - crafts and activities - play games - write letters - special events - have 1:1 visits for companionship - sharing your gifts and talents with residents. GRAD PHOTO BOOKINGS: Grad Photo bookings are now open online! Grad Photos start on October 29th. You can book your appointment NOW by going onto the Lifetouch website. All grade 12 students need to sign up for an appointment as we encourage everyone to have a picture taken so that you are included in the yearbook.
GRAD POINSETTIA FUNDRAISER - Grads do you want to decrease your Grad fee's this year? Grad Poinsettia fundraiser order forms are now available on the Grad Board in the main foyer! Forms are due back Wednesday, October 30th.

Following the meeting at 8pm, the Dry Grad 2018 Committee will have their first parent meeting. At this time, information will be shared regarding the event and opportunities to become involved. Please support the Dry Grad in any way you can!
INTERNATIONAL
CAMP QWANOES: Meeting on Thursday at lunch in the dining room for all those International Students attending Camp Qwanoes next week.
WHISTLER SKI TRIP: International Students can now sign-up for SISP Whistler Ski Trip happening on December 5th, 6th 7th. Cost: $550.00. Package includes: Ferry and Bus Transportation, 2 nights accommodation, 2 day lift tickets and lessons. Forms are available from Diane in the International Office. Sign-up ASAP if you want to go!
COMMUNITY
SCOUTS CANADA: The 10th Tsartlip Ventures (Scouts Canada program for boys and girls aged 14-18) have developed their outdoor plan for 2018-2019. Their focus this year is on camping and day hikes. The Venturers are not meeting every week; they normally meet to plan their outdoor activities such as camps or hikes. If you would like a summary of the Venturer program or have any questions, please email 10tsartlip@victoriascouts.ca. We can put you in touch with a Venturer who attends Stelly’s.

Saanich Career Education presents "Parents as Informed Partners" at the Mary Winspear Centre in Sidney on Thursday, Oct. 4th at 7:00 pm. Learn about various specialty programs, "dual credit", post secondary and trades training while still in high school, hear from a parent & student panel, partner post secondary institutions, and much more!
