GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

PAC MEETING : Tonight at 7pm in the Learning Commons. Everyone Welome!

Do you sing, dance or play an instrument and want a chance to showcase your talent? Stellys’ next coffee concert is December 5th with auditions being held November 26th, 27th, and 28th at lunchtime in the dining room. Audition signup is available on the band room door. We can’t wait to see what the students of Stellys have to offer.

HOMEWORK HELP:  Need any help with your homework? Extra Help is available every morning from 7:15am in the Learning Commons or after school Monday/Tuesday and Thursday until 4pm! Check it out!

CAREER CENTRE

Soldier For A Day- Work/Study Program
The BC Army Reserve is hosting a Soldier for a Day program on SATURDAY, November 17th.  This program is an introduction to the role of the BC Army Reserve both here in your home community, across Canada and even around the world. It’s also worth 6 1/2 hours of work experience. Don’t wait too long to sign up, as spaces are filling up fast!

UP COMING UNIVERSITY VISITS: Nov 14th : A representative from McGill University will be here after school at 2:40pm in Rm 116

TRAINING & EDUCATION:

Have You Considered a Career in AVIATION and DESIGN?  School District #61 is hosting a semester long Aviation and Design Program @ Mt. Doug Secondary February - June 2019.   Partnering With Viking Air, Victoria Flying Club, Pacific Sky, VIH Aviation Group & Camosun College.  To register talk with Mr. Rhodes in the Career Centre.   APPLICATIONS ARE DUE BY NOVEMBER 15, 2018.

District #63 Hairdressing Program
Any students interested in the dual credit Cosmo/Hairdressing Program, offered by SD#63 in partnership with Vancouver Island University, please see Mr. Rhodes  in the Career Centre to sign up for the Feb. 2019 start!

GRAD 2019

After Grad Parent Meeting is tonight at 7pm in Rm 116. All parents of Grads are Welcome!

GRAD CLOTHING: Grad Clothing Orders are in...Pick up at lunch from the Dining Room on Wednesday and Thursday!

PARENTS:

POST SECONDARY INSTITUTES OF BC & CAREER COACHING SEMINAR - Thursday, NOV 15TH

Representatives from the POST SECONDARY INSTITUTES OF BC will be at Stelly's on Thursday, November 15th starting at 6:00 through to  8:00pm to provide information about their programs, admissions and answer any questions you may have! There are 2 presentation sessions in various classrooms followed by a min fair. The evening starts with 2 presentation sessions in various classrooms followed by a mini-fair in the Learning Commons.

Session Details:

Presentation  #1: 6:00 to 6:35 PM (Various classrooms)

Presentation  #2: 6:40 to 7:15 PM (Various classrooms)

Mini Fair:   7:25 to 8:00 PM (Learning Commons)

Also, we are hosting a "PARENTS AS CAREER COACHES" Seminar at 6:30pm to help parents guide their children to make sound educational and career choices.
