GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS


TONIGHT the Stelly’s Performing Arts department, with special guests from Allegro Performing Arts Centre, invite you to an Evening of Performing Arts at 7pm in the MPR. Tickets are $15 and available at the main office or at the door. Cash only, please.


A reminder to all grade 9 students to return your immunization forms to the main office ASAP.


To those of you who eat lunch in the Learning Commons, if you would like to continue that privilege then you must clean up your mess after eating.  If food, drink and garbage continue to be left in the Learning Commons, then the Learning Commons will be closed at lunch until further notice.


Monday, December 10th is Human Rights Day. Youth in Action is holding a bake sale to raise money for Amnesty International. Amnesty International is an organization that works to stop the abuse of human rights. Come to the main foyer at lunch on Monday to buy some treats and support Amnesty International!


Candy Grams will be on sale at lunch starting Monday. Delivery will take place December 19th & 20th in Block 1.


Reminder to all students registered in the Psych 130/Psych 12 Dual Credit course in semester 2, that applications are due.  There will be a meeting on Monday at lunch in room 153.  Extra applications can be picked up in the counselling office, if needed.


STELLY’S ANNUAL FOOD DRIVE: Don’t forget to bring in your cans and non-perishable food items for the Annual Food Drive! Every classroom has a list of items to bring to fill a hamper. Please check the list and help fill the hamper to help families in our community. 


If you have signed up for Peer Tutoring 11/12, please check your email. Your training session will be on Friday, December 14th at 2:45 in room 116.


CAREER CENTRE


Applications for UVic's High Tech U Program are available from the Career Centre. HighTech U is an initiative of the UVic Computer Science Dept. This 3-step program includes a an 8-week paid summer internship working in the the high-tech industry. Once completed, graduates of the internship will be eligible for a post-secondary award towards their first-year tuition at UVic.  Application submissions are due December 31st.  Visit the Career Centre for more info.


Any students interested in the dual credit Cosmo/Hairdressing Program, offered by SD#63 in partnership with Vancouver Island University, please see Mr. Rhodes  in the Career Centre to sign up for the Feb. 2019 start!
