GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Today, Dec 10th is Human Rights Day. Youth in Action is holding a bake sale to raise money for Amnesty International. Amnesty International is an organization that works to stop the abuse of human rights. Come to the main foyer at lunch to buy some treats and support Amnesty International!

CANDY GRAMS: Candy Grams will be on sale this week at lunch!

IMMUNIZATION FORMS: A reminder to all grade 9 students to return your immunization forms to the main office ASAP.

Meeting today at lunch in room 153 for all those students  registered in the Psych 130/Psych 12 Dual Credit course in semester 2, If you can not make it see Ms. Koneig.

STELLY”S ANNUAL FOOD DRIVE: Stelly’s has started it’s Annual Food Drive! Every classroom has a list of items to bring to fill a hamper. Please Check the list and help fill the hamper to help families in our community.

GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES PARENTS MEETING: Global Perspectives Parents Meeting Tuesday in the Learning Commons at 5:30pm. All Parents are requested to attend.

CAREER CENTRE

HighTech U is an initiative of the UVic Computer Science Dept. This 3-step program includes a an 8-week paid summer internship working in the the high-tech industry. Once completed, graduates of the internship will be eligible for a post-secondary award towards their first-year tuition at UVic.  Application submissions are due December 31st.  Visit the Career Centre for more information.

 District #63 Hairdressing Program
Any students interested in the dual credit Cosmo/Hairdressing Program, offered by SD#63 in partnership with Vancouver Island University, please see Mr. Rhodes  in the Career Centre to sign up for the Feb. 2019 start!

EMPLOYMENT:

Minor Test Shopper: Help eliminate the sale of tobacco and vapour products to minors by conducting compliance checks on retail outlets. The Minor Test Shopper will be required to enter stores and attempt to buy tobacco or vapour products.  $14.00 hour.See the Career Centre Info Board for the Job Description

GRAD 2019

GRAD PHOTO PROOFS: Grad Photo Proofs are available for pick up from the main office

GRAD’s don’t forget to grab a Thrifty Smile card or a Fairway card from the office to raise funds for the Dry Grad.  Get your parents to load the card when they shop, and the stores will make a donation to Dry Grad 2019.

INTERNATIONAL

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT DANCE:  The International Student Winter Dance is happening this Thursday night from 5:30 -8pm.  Please sign up with Diane ASAP!

INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL:  For all International Students  planning any Day trip travel,  applications are due by this Friday, December 14th.   Please hand them in to the International Office on time.
