GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Attention Gr 9,10 and 11's........Are you interested in writing a University of Waterloo Math contest this spring?  The next round of contests will be written later this month and deadline to sign up is FRIDAY.  See Mrs Hilton in rm 169 before Friday if you are interested.  It's free for you and a great way to challenge your Math skills!!!

STUDENT PARKING: Just a reminder to students that parking permits are required to park on school premises. Student parking is spots are provided on a first come first served basis. If student parking is full students are reminded that parking is not permitted in visitors, handicapped or "R" spots. Students will need to park on Wallace Road at the back of the field.

ATHLETICS

GIRLS RUGBY: All girls interested in joining the Girls Rugby team please meet today at lunch in Rm 136. See Mr Hart if you can't make it!

BOYS RUGBY: Boy's Rugby is starting this week. Practices are today and Thursday after school. Se Mr. Collins if you can't make it.

CLUBS

ROBOTICS CLUB: Robotics Club starts this week! It is held every Tuesday after school in Rm 153. See Mr. McDonald for more info.

CAREER CENTRE

Reminder that Field trip consent forms for the Women in Trades and Technology Day on Feb 20 at Camosun are due by next Thursday, February 14th for any girls wanting to participate. This is a great chance to explore and participate in activities in trades like Carpentry, Electrical, Automotive, Sheet Metal Fabrication, plus four technology areas including Computer Science, Civil Engineering, Electronic Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Butchart Gardens Employment Opportunities & Job Fair - Feb. 13th from 6-8 pm

YOUTH EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM (YEP) JOB FAIR - Friday, Feb 15 at Shoal Centre (10030 Resthaven Drive) 10 - 12 pm.  This is a great opportunity to meet employers interested in hiring students for summer or part time jobs. GRAD 2019

MANDATORY GRAD ASSEMBLEY: Mandatory Grad Assembly is on Wednesday in Block 2 - All Grads MUST attend!

MAGIC WAND: The Magic Wand is a non-profit organization that offers an Eco-friendly and inexpensive alternative to grad outfits for both girls and boys. The Magic Wand is for ANY grad to borrow a dress, suit or tux, rather than buy (a small fee for cleaning is the only charge). All outfits are new or like-new, and all accessories are included. GRAD TRANSITIONS: Grad Transition paperwork deadline is March 8th! All required paperwork is available in the Career Centre, online thru the Stelly’s website or the Saanich Career Education website. Don't delay get it done today!

Water Polo Athlete Recruitment Program:  Saanich Water Polo School is offering a NEW Water Polo Athlete Recruitment Program, February to May, at Saanich Commonwealth Place Pool.  Tryouts are free. All enquiries should be directed to waterpoloschool@shaw.ca

PARENT VOLUNTEER NEEDED   - The Stelly’s Breakfast Program is still in need a  parent volunteer for Wednesday mornings from 7:30 am to 9am. The Stellys breakfast program is open to all students and is a simple self-serve bagel breakfast. Please consider helping if you can!
