GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Hey Stelly's... Reminder that Wednesday is Pink Shirt Day!  Wear your pink shirt with pride to say you stand up against bullying.  Don't have a pink shirt?  Social Leadership students will be selling anti-bullying buttons in the main foyer next week for $2.  All profits will go to the Pink Shirt Day campaign. 

Stellys’ next Coffee Concert is on March 13th. Audition sign up sheets are posted on the band room door.

FRANCE SPRING BREAK 2020: Would you be interested in travelling with friends to Holland, Belgium, and France to visit famous battlefields and memorials from World War 1 and 2?  Would you like to tour a Belgian chocolate factory, see the Normandy countryside, and shop in Paris?  All this and much more will be offered on our Spring Break 2020 trip.  See Mrs Wallace in room 108 this week for more information.  There's a discount for sign up before April and it's open for grades 9 to 12.

ATHLETICS

JR & SR GIRLS SOCCER Tryouts begin Tuesday Feb 26 after school. Bring runners and cleats and we will meet 3:30 on the field at the school.

Track and field practice after school today. The Practice schedule is posted on the Track & Field board outside the small gym.

Reminder to all basketball players please return their uniforms ASAP to Mr. Braun in the PE office. If you don’t return your uniform by the end of the week you will be billed!

CLUBS

African Aids Angels: The Youth In Action club would like to invite you to an event on Monday, February 25 after school.  We will be making cloth angels as a fundraiser for children in Africa who have been orphaned by AIDS.  Each angel kit is $5.00.  The African Aids Angels organizers will tell us about their programs and teach us to make the kits.  Free snacks provided by Youth In Action.  See Mrs Wallace in room 108 for more information and to sign up.

CAREER CENTRE

CAMOSUN INFO NIGHT 2019 is happening this Thursday, February 28 from 5:30 – 8pm at the Lansdowne campus. This is your chance to see what Camosun has to offer you. Talk to instructors and program experts.

WorkBC Find Your Fit Event – Feb 26 - The WorkBC Find Your Fit tour is an interactive event, TOMORROW (Tuesday) at Bayside Middle School, from 3-7 pm, where youth can try the skills they'll need for different careers in demand in your region and across the province, and can help youth apply real-life experience to their career planning. This free event welcomes parents and family members too

Butchart Gardens Job fair is this Wednesday from 6-8 pm. Bring your resume and be ready for an on the spot interview!

First Aid Training – Saturday, April 6  from 8:30-4:00 pm at the SHOAL Centre in Sidney. $50. This course covers initial assessment, disease prevention, secondary survey, airway obstruction, adult/child/infant CPR, & the use of an Automated External Defibrillator.

Food Safe Level 1 Training – Monday, April 8, 2019, from 8:30 - 4:30 pm, at the SHOAL Centre in Sidney. $50. Food Safe is useful for anyone working in the food service, food retail, or food processing industries. You will learn how to handle food safely in order to prevent food from being contaminated.  Visit the Career Centre for registration info.

Class Afloat 2019-2020 - This programme offers rigorous and internationally acclaimed academic programmes for grade 11, 12, University and GAP year students. Class Afloat offers both study and travel opportunities, onboard their majestic tall ship, and have just released their2019-2020 Voyage details.
