GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Hey Stelly's... tomorrow is Pink Shirt Day!  Wear your pink shirt with pride to say you stand up against bullying.  Don't have a pink shirt?  Social Leadership students will be selling anti-bullying buttons in the main foyer for $2.   

The Hive, Stelly's School Store, is up and running again and will be open Wednesdays at lunch. Come by to check out school merchandise, snacks, and supplies, and fill out our survey to let us know what you'd like to see in the Hive. The link is posted on the school website's main page

FRANCE SPRING BREAK 2020: Would you be interested in travelling with friends to Holland, Belgium, and France to visit famous battlefields and memorials from World War 1 and 2?  Would you like to tour a Belgian chocolate factory, see the Normandy countryside, and shop in Paris?  All this and much more will be offered on our Spring Break 2020 trip.  See Mrs Wallace in room 108 this week for more information.  There's a $150 discount for sign up before April and it's open for grades 9 to 12.

ATHLETICS

JR & SR GIRLS SOCCER: Tryouts begin today after school. Bring runners and cleats and we will meet 3:30 on the field at the school.

Reminder to all basketball players please return their uniforms ASAP to Mr. Braun in the PE office. If you don’t return your uniform by the end of the week you will be billed!

CAREER CENTRE

CAMOSUN INFO NIGHT 2019 is happening this Thursday, February 28 from 5:30 – 8pm at the Lansdowne campus. This is your chance to see what Camosun has to offer you. Talk to instructors and program experts about the programs you are interested in.

TRAINING & EDUCATION:

First Aid Training – April 6  from 8:30-4:00 pm at the SHOAL Centre in Sidney. $50. This course covers initial assessment, disease prevention, secondary survey, airway obstruction, adult/child/infant CPR, & the use of an Automated External Defibrillator.

Food Safe Level 1 training:  Monday, April 8, 2019, from 8:30 - 4:30 pm, at the SHOAL Centre in Sidney. $50. Food Safe is useful for anyone working in the food service, food retail, or food processing industries. You will learn how to handle food safely in order to prevent food from being contaminated.  Visit the Career Centre for registration info.

Class Afloat 2019-2020 - This programme offers rigorous and internationally acclaimed academic programmes for grade 11, 12, University and GAP year students. Class Afloat offers both study and travel opportunities, onboard their majestic tall ship, and have just released their2019-2020 Voyage details. EMPLOYMENT:

Brentwood Bay Village Empourium -  looking for kitchen support staff, duties would include bussing tables, food prep, washing dishes, preparing milkshakes and cold drinks and supporting cooks and baristas with various duties. Must be available one weekend day and one or more weekday afternoons a week. GRADE 12's - Your GT paperwork deadline is less than 2 weeks away!!  Deadline Friday, March 8, 2019.  All required paperwork is available in the Career Centre!

GRAD SPRING PLANT FUNDRAISER: Grads don't forget to pick up your Grad Spring Plant fundraiser form from the Grad board. This fundraiser will help you pay for your Dinner/Dance ticket .... so don't delay grab a fundraising form today!

SKI TRIP MEETING: Meeting on Friday at lunch in Rm 114 for all International Students going on the Mt. Washington Ski Trip.

Rocky Mountains Trip – April 7-10 - International students: there is an amazing bus trip and tour planned to the Rocky Mountains, 4 days & 3 nights: April 7-10.  Enjoy some of the best mountain views in Canada.  Deadline to book is Thursday, March 7.
