GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Huge Congratulations to the staff and students who took part in the FILL THE HIVE FOOD DRIVE yesterday! ! We collected over 8000 cans for those less fortunate in our community! Another reason why we can call Stelly’s “The People Place”  You Rock Stingers!

DEADLINE FOR COURSE SELECTION FORMS was yesterday!If you haven't handed yours in yet....Get it done! Please make sure forms have a  PARENT SIGNATURE.

THE HIVE, STELLY’S SCHOOL STORE is open today at lunch. Come by to check out school merchandise, snacks, and supplies, and fill out our survey to let us know what you'd like to see in the Hive. The link is posted on the school website's main page

COFFEE CONCERT: The Stelly's Coffee Concert schedule for next week has been postponed until May.

HOMEWORK HELP:  Need any help with your homework? Extra Help is available every morning from 7:15am in the Learning Commons or after school Monday/Tuesday and Thursday until 4pm! Check it out!

YEARBOOKS: Please check the Yearbook list in the office to ensure you have pre-purchased your Yearbook. Cost is $50 now and will increase after spring Break! ONLY A few extra yearbooks will be ordered so prepay now to ensure you get one!

ATHLETICS

PADDLE CLUB: Stelly's Paddling Club is having its first paddle of the spring this Friday from 3-5. Info is on the google classroom or interested students can see Ms Matheson .

Spring Sailing is starting soon.  Beginner and experienced sailors are welcome!  Sailing runs April 6th - June 8th. If you are interested please stop by the office and pick up an application form!

CAREER CENTRE

TRAINING & EDUCATION:

First Aid Training – April 6  from 8:30-4:00 pm at the SHOAL Centre in Sidney. $50. This course covers initial assessment, disease prevention, secondary survey, airway obstruction, adult/child/infant CPR, & the use of an Automated External Defibrillator.

Food Safe Training – April 8
Food Safe Level 1 training:  Monday, April 8, 2019, from 8:30 - 4:30 pm, at the SHOAL Centre in Sidney. $50. Food Safe is useful for anyone working in the food service, food retail, or food processing industries. You will learn how to handle food safely in order to prevent food from being contaminated.  Visit the Career Centre for registration info.

Class Afloat 2019-2020 - This programme offers rigorous and internationally acclaimed academic programmes for grade 11, 12, University and GAP year students. Class Afloat offers both study and travel opportunities, onboard their majestic tall ship, and have just released their2019-2020 Voyage details. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Volunteers needed for a Spring Fair Fundraiser @Heritage Acres - Saturday May 18th 8:30-2:30

Volunteers are needed for games, bouncy castles, inflatable obstacle course, inflatable horse race game, face painting, cotton candy machine and concession. There is also an opportunity to dress up as a PRINCESS or SUPERHERO character for 4 hour shifts?  Great opportunity for your credits for Work Experience or Grad Transition This event is put on by the Brentwood Elementary School PAC.  Contact Pam at paclunch@brentwoodpac.ca

YMCA Summer Work Student Exchange is a national program offering opportunities for youth to improve their second official language skills, explore another part of Canada, and gain valuable work experience through a work placement while on the exchange.The program runs for 6 weeks (early July to mid August), you must be 16 or 17 years of age during the summer program. Benson Cabinetry/Millwork is looking for two students to clean up their shop for a couple of hours - twice a week.  $12.65 hour
If you have a spare in last block??  This position could be for you - starting at 1:30ish - shop closes at 3:30.
