GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

A HUGE Congratulations to the SR Boys Volleyball who won their matches against Esquimalt and Ed Milne, and split sets with Vic High yesterday.  Also, Congratulations to the JR Boys Soccer team that defeated Royal Bay 5-2 yesterday. You make us Proud Stingers!

Reminder to all students interested in Work Experience or have completed Work Experience hours or paperwork...there is an info meeting at lunch today in the Learning Commons.

Homework Help is available every morning from 7:10am in the Learning commons and after school on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday til 4pm.

ATHLETICS

CROSS COUNTRY: There is an important meeting for all Cross Country Team runners this FRIDAY at lunch in Mrs Hilton's room (169).  Everyone must attend!

CAREER CENTRE

Trades Exploration -TEX Program - Have you thought about a career in the trades?  Not sure if it will be right for you? Get samples of Welding, Carpentry, Electrical and Plumbing through a Semester 2 TEx Program!  Earn work experience credits and learn about the steps to apprenticeship and Red Seal Certification. There's still time to register!

ALERT FIRST AID with CPR”C”& AED
Saturday, November 22nd, 2019 - 8:30 am to 4:00 pm @ SHOAL Centre 10030 Resthaven Drive. Cost is $50.00 - Cash, cheque or credit card is accepted.  This fun & interactive 8-hour course trains people how to react & improvise during time priority, life threatening emergencies. This course covers initial assessment, disease prevention, secondary survey, airway obstruction, adult/child/infant CPR, & the use of an Automated External Defibrillator.  This course also includes recognition & first-aid treatment for head & spine injuries, shock, bleeds, anaphylactic shock, heart attacks & strokes.  Participants spend the majority of the course doing hands on first-aid training.  By practicing with scenarios students gain confidence & learn to react & improvise in emergency situations. AUTOTECH PROGRAM - Do you love cars? Enjoy working with your hands? Need credits for graduation?  How would you like to be a Camosun student before you graduate? STARTS February 2020 – Application deadline is mid-November 2019.  13 weeks (February-June) of instruction at Esquimalt High. 7 weeks at Camosun College for Automotive Service Technician Apprenticeship Program. 100 hours of Work Experience to be completed before Camosun begins.  To register see the Career Centre.

Peninsula Co-op is looking to hire at their Gas Bar Locations - Duties include: gas attendant, customer service, stocking, general cleaning and being outdoors.  This position would be suitable for a student seeking part-time work, providing around 16 hours each week, including  2 evenings and one weekend day. BOTTLE DRIVE FOR GRAD 2020: The First Bottle drive on this School Year is September 28th from 9:00am - 12:00pm to raise money for the After Grad 2020.
