GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

TODAY is ORANGE SHIRT DAY! This is a nationally commemorated day to remember the survivors of Residential Schools while affirming that all children are valued in our community. Let's show our support for reconciliation and human rights. Wearing orange helps us all to share in this important message. Every Child Matters.

Congratulations to all of our Stelly’s Rowing Team Members for their excellent Bronze, Silver and Golden performances over this past weekend at the 33rd Annual Crabfest Regatta. Not only was the rowing superb but they were all excellent ambassadors for our school. Well done Stingers!

WORK EXPERIENCE: Just a reminder to students that are interested in signing up for Work Experience credits that the paper work is due. Please drop by the Career Centre for more info if you are interested!

The France 2020 trip group will be holding a meeting on Monday, October 7 in room 108 and you are invited!  Families not yet registered and still thinking of travelling with us this coming Spring Break are invited to attend at 6:00pm.  Families already registered are invited to join us at 6:45.  We are nearing the end of our recruiting period so please contact Catherine Wallace if you are still interested in the trip but unable to attend or if you have any questions.

Did you know that Stelly's will be co-hosting an all candidates meeting for the federal election?  Come and meet the 5 candidates hoping to represent Saanich Gulf Islands in Ottawa.  Parents and students are invited to attend this Wednesday, October 2 at 7:00 in the MPR.  The candidates will be answering questions written and asked by our students.  This will be a great opportunity to prepare for the Student Vote on Oct 17 and the election on Oct 21.  Doors open at 6:30pm this Wednesday

CLUBS

ART CLUB: Interested in exploring different Art Mediums or challenges? Check out the Art club that is starting next Tuesday, Sept 24th  after school . Cost is $30 for this semester.  Everyone Welcome!

MODEL UN: Are you interested in politics, international relations, or the United Nations? Do enjoy debate, discussing current world issues, and want to develop your public speaking skills? Join the Stelly's Model UN club! Meeting today at lunch in Room 105.

GRAD 2020

Grad Parent Information Night is happening on Thursday,  October 10th, 2019 @  7:00 pm in Stelly's Large Gym. All parents/guardians are asked to attend this information session and learn about the many details of grad year ahead.

PARENTS/COMMUNITY

FEDERAL ELECTION ALL CANDIDATES DEBATE  - is happening on Wednesday, October 2nd at Stelly's in the MPR. Doors open at 6:30 pm. Debates begins at 7:00 pm.
