GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Important meeting for all students registered in Law 12/Crim 154  on Monday at lunch in the computer lab?

Extra Homework Help is available every morning from 7:15 am in Room 156 and after school in the Learning Commons on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday til 4pm.

Photo Retake Day – Nov. 28 - Photo retake day is on Thursday, November 28 in block 1, if you missed the first photo day, or if you want a new photo take or If you want retakes, you must return your complete original package (and I.D. card) to the photographer at the time of retakes.  Purchasing photos is optional, but all students in all grades need to have school photos taken, for school identification purposes (grade 12’s too - even if you are having grad photos taken)

Parent Night @ UVic – Nov 28 - Parent Night is for the parents! Come to hear information about admission requirements for our programs, scholarships, and upcoming application deadlines, plus some advice on helping your student transition successfully to life in university. TRAINING & EDUCATION:

Sport & Exercise Education Information Session tonight at 6pm at Pise at the Interurban Camosun College Campus... this is a great opportunity to learn more about the program and to get your questions answered by faculty and staff. See the Career Centre for more details.

JDF Fire/Rescue Cadet Camp - Do you have what it takes to… Run into a burning building when everyone else is running away? Handle a hose so powerful it takes two people to hold it? Dangle off the end of a rope 50 feet in the air? Use the Jaws of Life and other tools to save someone trapped in a car? The next JDF Fire/Rescue Cadet Camp runs March 16 – 21, 2020.  Application deadline is December 18, 2019 - For information & applications, please visit the Career Centre.  Upon completion, students qualify for 100 Work Experience hours, equivalent to 4 school credits.

The SHOAL Centre Bridge Club Dinner and Banquet is being held on December 4, Volunteers Needed!! Lions Club Breakfast with Santa - Mary Winspear Centre, November 30th
Put on our Santa hats, the Lions cook the food and we serve it to the bright eyed young families who come to sit on Santa’s knee and tell him all about their wishes for this Christmas!  For more information on how to help with this fun event, contact Sara at slawton@beaconcs.ca or 250-656-5537

GRAD PHOTO PROOF pick up today at lunch in the Dining Room.

 GRAD Winter Formal - December 12th - 6:30pm - 9pm -  The date for the Grad Winter Formal has been changed. The formal will be on Thursday December 12 6:30-9pm.  Tickets are $20 and will be on sale in the main foyer at lunch Dec 2nd -6th.  Plan ahead and book the night off to join your fellow grads for a fun night of food, music and dancing!

MAGIC WAND PROJECT: Magic Wand Project is a non-profit organization that offers an inexpensive and eco-friendly alternative to grad outfits for both girls and boys. This is a chance to borrow, rather than buy, a dress, suit or tux, (a small fee for cleaning is the only charge). All outfits are new or like-new, and all accessories are included. BOTTLE DRIVE FOR GRAD 2020: The next Grad bottle drive is this Saturday, November 23rd from 9:00am - 12:00pm to raise money for the After Grad 2020. The Bottle Drive schedule co-insides with the Community Recycling and soft plastics drop-off at Stelly’s each month.

INTERNATIONAL FAREWELL LUNCHEON: The next International Student Lunch and Farewell is scheduled for Thursday, November 28 in the Learning Commons. Lunch will be provided.

The Peninsula Youth Clinic in  Sidney is open today and every THURSDAY from 5:30 - 7:30pm with both a doctor and mental health clinician on hand.
