Italy Spring Break 2021 - Visit Italy for 11 days during your Spring Break of 2021! We will arrive in Milan and the visit Venice, Florence, Assisi, Rome, Pompeii and Capri. BC Cancer – Victoria’s Deeley Research Centre is pleased to be able to offer the Xavier Pelletier High School Internship Program (HSIP) to Grade 11 students in southern Vancouver Island. This program provides students the opportunity to explore cancer research from the front lines, learning the latest techniques in the fight against cancer. During the summer between Grades 11 and 12, students will be responsible for an 8-week research project which they will develop and implement from start to finish with continual support from a designated supervisor and a team of research scientists. All secondary schools on Vancouver Island are eligible to nominate (two) Grade 11 students. On completion students will receive a $3,000 bursary toward post-secondary education. P&R Truck Centre Ltd. is currently looking for a shop person (cleaning, greasing trucks etc.) who are interest in getting their foot in the door at a Heavy Duty shop? This is a great opportunity to get in with a shop and be sponsored for an apprenticeship. The shifts would be evenings (after school) and Saturdays. “TOUR OF INDUSTRY FOR YOUTH” - Explore a local industry via guided tour. This is an opportunity for students to meet local businesses and hear about positions they might not have thought of as careers. Wages are well beyond minimum, & the companies have lots to offer. As this is an event held outside the classroom, students will be responsible for making their own arrangements to miss a day of classes and for transportation to the venue. RCMP Training in Saskatchewan – 5 days in Spring Break - The RCMP is inviting 32 grade 12 students from across Canada to the Youth Engagement Week held at the Police Training Academy in Regina, Saskatchewan. The program will take place from March 23 to 27. Costs for travel, accommodations and meals will be covered by the RCMP. This is a great opportunity for students, who are interested in a career in law enforcement, to experience a week of what training in the RCMP looks like! YMCA Summer Work Student Exchange is a national program offering opportunities for youth to improve their second official language skills, explore another part of Canada, and gain valuable work experience through a work placement while on the exchange. The program runs for 6 weeks (early July to mid August), you must be 16 or 17 years of age during the summer program.
