Stelly's 1st Coffee Concert is happening on Wednesday, February 26th. Do you like to sing, dance, act, do slam poetry or stand up comedy? We want to show off your talents. The Stelly’s Coffee concerts are the perfect way to get involved in the school and to perform in front of a friendly live audience. Auditions will be held from February 18th-20th at lunchtime. Time slots for auditions will be posted on the band room door. Can’t wait to see you there!
Italy Spring Break 2021 - Visit Italy for 11 days during your Spring Break of 2021! We will arrive in Milan and the visit Venice, Florence, Assisi, Rome, Pompeii and Capri. BC Cancer – Victoria’s Greeley Research Centre is pleased to be able to offer the Xavier Pelletier High School Internship Program (HSIP) to Grade 11 students in southern Vancouver Island. This program provides students the opportunity to explore cancer research from the front lines, learning the latest techniques in the fight against cancer. During the summer between Grades 11 and 12, students will be responsible for an 8-week research project which they will develop and implement from start to finish with continual support from a designated supervisor and a team of research scientists. All secondary schools on Vancouver Island are eligible to nominate (two) Grade 11 students. On completion students will receive a $3,000 bursary toward post-secondary education. BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute, would like to invite Grade 10-12 - students to attend Mini Med School in Victoria, Thursday, April 2, 2020. At Mini Med School Victoria, students will learn about the latest in biomedical and clinical research through lectures with live demonstrations and hands-on experience that inspire and motivate further learning. As Mini Med School is a special event held outside the classroom, students will be responsible for making their own arrangements to miss a day of classes and for transportation to the venue. Admission is FREE. Student registration will be available online on Monday, February 10 at 4 p.m. at www.minimedschoolbc.ca. Registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited, so we encourage students to register as soon as registration opens.
RCMP Training in Saskatchewan – 5 days in Spring Break - The RCMP is inviting 32 grade 12 students from across Canada to the Youth Engagement Week held at the Police Training Academy in Regina, Saskatchewan. The program will take place from March 23 to 27. Costs for travel, accommodations and meals will be covered by the RCMP. This is a great opportunity for students, who are interested in a career in law enforcement, to experience a week of what training in the RCMP looks like! YMCA Summer Work Student Exchange is a national program offering opportunities for youth to improve their second official language skills, explore another part of Canada, and gain valuable work experience through a work placement while on the exchange. The program runs for 6 weeks (early July to mid August), you must be 16 or 17 years of age during the summer program.
