GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Pink Shirt Day is Wednesday,Feb. 26th. We encourage students to wear pink and participate in contributing to a positive, encouraging culture. We will also be taking a school picture of everyone wearing their pink shirts! Also to take a picture with your phone and put it on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook with #PinkShirtDay. Let's stop bullying by celebrating individuality and diversity.
Stelly's 1st Coffee Concert is happening on Wednesday, February 26th. Do you like to sing, dance, act, do slam poetry or stand up comedy? We want to show off your talents. The Stelly’s Coffee concerts are the perfect way to get involved in the school and to perform in front of a friendly live audience. Auditions will be held from February 18th-20th at lunchtime. Time slots for auditions will be posted on the band room door. Can’t wait to see you there!
Italy Spring Break 2021 - Visit Italy for 11 days during your Spring Break of 2021! We will arrive in Milan and the visit Venice, Florence, Assisi, Rome, Pompeii and Capri. This tour is organized by EF Tours and hosted by Ms Liberatore from Stelly's. Please contact Ms Liberatore for more information. Train to be an Umpire! - If you have played baseball or softball and wish to try umpiring, the Peninsula Baseball and Softball Organization is offering training clinics for umpiring in late February and in March. Pre-registration is required. There will be a Level 1 Baseball Clinic held at Parkland Secondary School in the evenings of Feb 24, 26 and 27. After training, umpiring positions are paid depending upon the age level game that is being umpired. Come to the Career Centre for more information.
Women in Trades Exploration Day is on Feb 26 at Camosun College. This fun, hands-on day introduces students to trades in electrical, carpentry, sheet metal, and automotive... as well as tech fields like civil & mechanical engineering, electronics, and computer science. Camosun College Info Night - Interurban Campus – Thursday, February 27, 2020 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Campus Tours leave from the Bookstore, 2nd Floor 5:15, 6:00 and 6:45 pm. Explore over 160 programs and get the answers you need to make the decision that’s right for you! You’ll have the chance to attend information sessions, talk to faculty, staff, and current students, get an interactive experience with some programs, and find out more about the many services and supports available. Panorama Recreation is hiring 3 positions for “Day Camp Assistant Leader” Duties include assisting in the facilitation of day camp activities and crafts; assisting in taking children on out trips. Hours of work varies: up to 8 hrs. on SD63 non-instructional days, and up to 40 hrs. March 16-27 over SD63 Spring Break $17.07 hr.(plus 14% in lieu of benefits).
