GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS 

Today the CAFETERIA has the choice of Pulled Pork & Coleslaw, Pulled Pork Poutine, Grilled Ham & Cheese, Korean Beef Stir fry, Coconut Chicken & Veggie bake, perogies or baked Penne pasta! Come on down and check it out! 

REMINDER TO ALL STUDENTS LOOKING TO MAKE TIMETABLE CHANGES for Q2?  Please fill out an orange course change request form and bring it to your counselling appointment.  Course change forms can be found in the counselling office. All requests must be made by November 18 at the latest! 

GRADE 9 IMMUNIZATION consent packages have been sent home with students. Please complete the form (YES or NO), sign and have students return the completed form to their Block 1 teacher by Nov. 10, 2020. Immunizations are planned to be done at school in early 2021. 

NORTH SAANICH DRIVE THRU FOOD DRIVE - NOV 14th, 2020 from Noon - 4pm  - Drop off is at the North Saanich Fire Hall Parking lot. During these challenging times our ability to go to events may be cancelled but our ability to give is not! The Saanich Peninsula Lions Food Bank needs our support and donations more than ever! Please help us out and donate what you can! A donation box is located just outside the main office. 

THE HIVE is now OPEN this week at lunchtime. All clothing is 50% off and we have a limited supply of certain store favorites like ice cream sandwiches....so make sure to scoop yours up! 

ATTENTION N ALL WRITERS & ARTISTS...the deadline for the Remembrance Day Literary and Poster contest is quickly approaching. Prizes will be given for winners in each category. Enter your submissions by November 15.  Please see Mrs. Pacheco McKinnon in the Learning Commons for more details. 

CAPSTONE 12 PROJECT .... One of our AMAZING Grade 12 students, Megan Rebneris is organizing a toiletries collection to donate to "Women in Need" as part of her Capstone 12 Project. "Women in Need" is a charity in Victoria that has programs that help women in our community. If you can donate items, please drop off in Ms. Lizama's room (150). Everything and anything is appreciated. Thank you for your help. 

MORNING HOMEWORK HELP is available every morning from 7:15 am in room 156. Also, AFTER SCHOOL HOMEWORK HELP is every Monday through Thursday in the Learning Commons until 4pm.

Virtual Post-Secondary Indigenous Recruitment Event - Friday, Nov. 6, 13, 20, 27, and Dec. 3, from 10-3 pm

UBC ENGINEERING & ARCHITECTURE OPEN HOUSE - Saturday, November 7, 2020.  Connect with professors, staff, and students to explore everything UBC Engineering and the School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture has to offer. POST SECONDARY of BC VIRTUAL EVENT - Nov 16th &17th    Are you overwhelmed about your Post Secondary options? Are you frustrated trying to find program information? Are you thinking about scholarships but do not know where to start? TRAINING & EDUCATION:

TRADES EXPLORATION (TEx Program) - Want to learn more about what it is like to work as a carpenter, plumber, electrician, or welder?  There are limited seats available for next year’s Quarter 3 Trades Exploration Program, provided in partnership with Camosun College. Learn about each trade, fast track your future and earn up to 8 credits toward grad for completing 2 courses!  Please see Ms. Hackman in the Career Centre for more information. 

SAANICH SKILLS TRAINING APPRENTICESHIP & CARPENTRY PROGRAM is a full 2nd semester immersion program where students learn the basics of constructing a wood frame structure from the bare ground to the rooftop. This program blends both theoretical knowledge and practical application of skills and concepts related to the trade. Successful students transition directly to Camosun College for further training as Level One Carpentry Apprentices. Please see Ms. Hackman in the Career Centre for more information.
