GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Today the CAFETERIA has the choice of a Baked Ham & Cheese with Arugula & Tomato Ciabatta, Bacon Chicken Caesar wrap, Chicken Caesar salad, Mac & Cheese, Cauliflower Cheddar soup or Chicken & Spinach with Cream sauce on Rice. Come on down and check it out!

REMINDER TO ALL STUDENTS LOOKING TO MAKE TIMETABLE CHANGES for Q2?  Please fill out an orange course change request form, and bring it to your counselling appointment.  Course change forms can be found in the counselling office, and all requests must be made by November 18 at the latest!

SCHOLARSHIP MEETING is on Wednesday at lunch in the Learning Commons ... Please wear your mask!

GRADE 9 IMMUNIZATION consent packages are past due! Please hand in to the main office!

BREAKFAST CLUB is happening Tuesday and Wednesday! Bagels and juice will be $.25. It's a great, cheap and easy way to start your day!  Come join the fun!

PLEASE REMEMBER TO RETURN YOUR TEXTBOOKS as soon as possible to the bin located outside of the Learning Commons.  You must have all textbooks returned before you can sign out quarter two textbooks.

CAPESTONE 12 PROJECT - Reminder that we are still collecting toiletries to donate to "Women in Need" as part of a Capstone 12 Project. "Women in Need" is a charity in Victoria that has programs that help women in our community. If you can donate items, please drop off in Ms. Lizama's room (150). Everything and anything is appreciated. Thank you for your help.

Don’t forget that there is MORNING HOMEWORK HELP every morning from 7:15 am in room 156 and AFTER SCHOOL HOMEWORK HELP is every Monday through Thursday in the Learning Commons until 4pm

POST SECONDARY of BC VIRTUAL EVENT - Nov 16th &17th    Are you overwhelmed about your Post Secondary options? Are you frustrated trying to find program information? SHEBIZ 2020 VIRTUAL EVENT - Wed. TRADES EXPLORATION (TEx Program) - Want to learn more about what it is like to work as a carpenter, plumber, electrician, or welder?  There are limited seats available for next year’s Quarter 3 Trades Exploration Program, provided in partnership with Camosun College. Learn about each trade, fast track your future and earn up to 8 credits toward grad for completing 2 courses!  Please see Ms. Hackman in the Career Centre for more information.

SAANICH SKILLS TRAINING APPRENTICESHIP & CARPENTRY PROGRAM is a full 2nd semester immersion program where students learn the basics of constructing a wood frame structure from the bare ground to the rooftop. This program blends both theoretical knowledge and practical application of skills and concepts related to the trade. Successful students transition directly to Camosun College for further training as Level One Carpentry Apprentices. Please see Ms. Hackman in the Career Centre for more information.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES:

LANDMARK DENTAL CENTRE (#213 - 2506 Beacon Ave, Sidney, BC) - Is now hiring an Office Concierge for Friday’s from 7:45 am to close (no later than 3:30) $14.60 hr.  Duties include having patients follow all Covid-19 protocols: using hand sanitizer, taking patients temperature (no touching involved), going through a pre-screening questionnaire regarding travel and symptoms with patients, having patients fill out a health history update and Covid-19 acknowledgement form, sanitizing work stations between patients, and sanitizing reception area and, filing and pulling charts.
