GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Happy Friday Everyone! Tomorrow is a Pro-D day so school is NOT is session!

Today the CAFETERIA has the choice of Stingers wrap with Honey Mustard, Baked Italian Panini with Swiss cheese, Caesar Salad, Beef Broccoli & Peppers on Rice Noodles with a spicy Peanut sauce, Baked Chicken fettuccini with spinach in cream sauce or Coconut Thai veggie rice. Come on down and check it out!

GRADE 9 IMMUNIZATION consent packages are past due! Please hand in to the main office!

GRADS ... Reminder that Grad Diploma Verification forms are now past due! Forms are available in the Career Centre. This must be done to Graduate!

The Moosehide planning group for Indigenous Leadership is meeting at lunch in the Dining Room. Bring a mask and your lunch.

UVIC VIRTUAL PARENTS NIGHT - Sunday, November 22, 5:00PM    Parent nights are for parents and guardians of high school students, but your students are welcome to join you! In these online events, we'll answer your questions about admission requirements, scholarships and upcoming application deadlines, and offer advice on helping your children successfully transition to life in university.  Events are scheduled in Pacific Time. SHEBIZ 2020 VIRTUAL EVENT - Wed. TRADES EXPLORATION (TEx Program) - Want to learn more about what it is like to work as a carpenter, plumber, electrician, or welder?  There are limited seats available for next year’s Quarter 3 Trades Exploration Program, provided in partnership with Camosun College. Learn about each trade, fast track your future and earn up to 8 credits toward grad for completing 2 courses!  Please see Ms. Hackman in the Career Centre for more information.

SAANICH SKILLS TRAINING APPRENTICESHIP & CARPENTRY PROGRAM is a full 2nd semester immersion program where students learn the basics of constructing a wood frame structure from the bare ground to the rooftop. This program blends both theoretical knowledge and practical application of skills and concepts related to the trade. Successful students transition directly to Camosun College for further training as Level One Carpentry Apprentices. Please see Ms. Hackman in the Career Centre for more information.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES:

HighTechU 2020-21 Internship - Application deadline is Wed, Nov 25   - HighTechU is hiring a number of High-School Software Development Interns part-time starting at the end of November until the end of February 2021. PENNINSULA YOUTH CLINIC is operating through Telehealth on Thursday evenings 5:30 - 7:30pm Appointments with doctors or mental health workers are conducted by phone or video. Services are completely free and confidential in their judgement free zone for any medical concerns, to get prescriptions, or to speak with a counsellor. To make an appointment, call 250-656-4143.
