GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Today the CAFETERIA has the choice of Turkey & Mozza focaccia with chipotle mayo, Buffalo Chicken Wrap, Chicken Caesar salad, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Pizza, Swedish Meatballs & Spaghetti or Fettuccini Alfredo.  Come on down and check it out! 

Reminder to Grade 9 & 10 Indigenous students that a luncheon is being held in the Dining Room today. Please wear a mask!

Hey Stingers ...  the Leadership Group is having a Spirit Week starting on Monday... Show your school spirit by participating in our school wide Holiday Spirit week! Check out the posters around the school and on the instagram page to see which themes are happening each day! Go Stingers!

Hey Stelly’s … the leadership group has started another scavenger hunt! Keep your eyes out for green, red or white stockings around outside of the school for a chance to win some Cafeteria gift cards! 

Stelly’s Annual Christmas Hamper Drive is now on through December 14th, 2020. We would like to be able to provide Food Hampers to families in our community. Please remember to bring in non-perishable food items, cash donations or gift cards from local grocery stores. Donation Boxes are in every classroom

Just a reminder .... MORNING HOMEWORK HELP is available every morning from 7:15 am in room 156 and AFTER SCHOOL HOMEWORK HELP is every Monday through Thursday in the Learning Commons until 4pm.

ATHLETICS

Any Junior Girls, Grade 9 or 10, interested in playing basketball, please come to a brief meeting in the large gym at lunch today! See Mr. Braun if you can’t make it!

Junior Boys basketball is starting this Thursday for any grade 9 or 10 boy who is interested on Thursdays after school in the big gym. See Mr. Gordon if you have any questions!

TRAINING & EDUCATION:

UVIC Virtual Parents Night - Thursday, January 14, 2021, 6:00PM  Parent Nights will provide parents & guardians  with the opportunity to learn more about UVic. Attendees will enjoy a presentation by the amazing Dr. Lisa Surridge, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, with some helpful tips on being successful in post-secondary studies. The focus of the talk is helping parents (and students) navigate the transition from high school to university.  Events are scheduled in Pacific Time. Registration closes two hours before an event. Canadian Coast Guard College – Virtual Presentation December 10th @4:30pm   -  Register for a virtual  presentation hosted by the Canadian Coast Guard College, "Discover the Officer Training Program."  The four-year Officer Training Program is one of the best marine training programs in the world, producing both Marine Engineering Officers and Marine Navigation Officers. Graduates of the CCGC receive a Canadian Coast Guard College Diploma, a Bachelor of Technology in Nautical Sciences, a Commercial Certification issued by Transport Canada,  continued employment with the Canadian Coast Guard, and internationally recognized certification. SAANICH SKILLS TRAINING APPRENTICESHIP & CARPENTRY PROGRAM is a full 2nd semester immersion program where students learn the basics of constructing a wood frame structure from the bare ground to the rooftop. This program blends both theoretical knowledge and practical application of skills and concepts related to the trade. Successful students transition directly to Camosun College for further training as Level One Carpentry Apprentices. Please see Ms. Hackman in the Career Centre for more information.

GRAD 2021

AFTER GRAD FUNDRAISER:  Grads ... your gift card fundraiser forms are located on the Grad board in the main foyer. We are selling gift cards from local businesses this Christmas to raise money for the 2021 Grad and the businesses will give us a portion of the sales!  Forms due Dec 4th, 2020

EPICURE FUNDRAISER2021 Parent Fundraiser for Stelly's Students' Dry After Grad is hosting an Epicure fundraiser to raise funds for the 2021 Dry Grad. Forms are located on the Grad board in the main foyer. Forms are due on December 15th, 2020.

Parent Teacher Interviews are happening on Thursday, December 10th, 2020.  On the afternoon of Friday, December 4th the Parent/Teacher online booking will be available on the Stelly's website.  Any Questions, Please let us know.
