GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Today the CAFETERIA has the choice of Turkey bacon pesto artichoke baguette, Teriyaki chicken wrap, pear spinach & chicken salad, BBQ ribs with roast potatoes and parmesan brussel sproats & green beans, cheese tortellini in a rosemary wine sauce, chicken chow mein or chicken drumsticks with potatoes and veggies.  Come on down and check it out!

Parent teacher interviews today so EARLY DISMISSAL for students at 2:05pm.  AFTER SCHOOL HOMEWORK HELP is starting at 2:05 today and will go until 4pm today! Check it out in the learning commons!

Grade 12's: For the love of everything that is holy, PLEASE check your school email!!! You must meet with Ms. Lizama if you already took CLC. These meetings are for your Capstone Project which you must complete. If it's not done...you don't GRADUATE!!! Go see Ms. Lizama...now!!!

Do you love writing?  Have you ever wondered how authors create their craft?  Meet Harold Macy, the author of the historical fiction book titled San Joseph.  He will be having a virtual writing workshop on December 14 from 12:30 to 2:30.  If you are interested in attending, please see Ms. Pacheco McKinnon in the Learning Commons.

The Social Leadership team would like to remind all students that candy Grams will be for sale this week during lunch in the main foyer. Stop by and buy a holiday treat for your friends! It is 50cents for 1 or 3 for a Dollar! We hope to see you drop by our table!

Hey Stelly’s … the leadership group still has 5 wooden stockings that have not been found for our scavenger hunt. Keep your eyes out for green, red or white wooden stockings around outside of the school for a chance to win some Cafeteria gift cards! 

Stelly’s Annual Christmas Hamper Drive is still on until next week! We would love to be able to provide Food Hampers to families in our community. Please remember to bring in non-perishable food items, cash donations or gift cards from local grocery stores. Donation Boxes are in every classroom

CAREER CENTRE

Canadian Coast Guard College – Virtual Presentation Thursday, December 10th @4:30pm   -  Register for a virtual  presentation hosted by the Canadian Coast Guard College, "Discover the Officer Training Program."  The four-year Officer Training Program is one of the best marine training programs in the world, producing both Marine Engineering Officers and Marine Navigation Officers. Graduates of the CCGC receive a Canadian Coast Guard College Diploma, a Bachelor of Technology in Nautical Sciences, a Commercial Certification issued by Transport Canada,  continued employment with the Canadian Coast Guard, and internationally recognized certification. SAANICH SKILLS TRAINING APPRENTICESHIP & CARPENTRY PROGRAM is a full 2nd semester immersion program where students learn the basics of constructing a wood frame structure from the bare ground to the rooftop. This program blends both theoretical knowledge and practical application of skills and concepts related to the trade. Successful students transition directly to Camosun College for further training as Level One Carpentry Apprentices. Please see Ms. Hackman in the Career Centre for more information.
