GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Today the CAFETERIA has the choice of Chicken Clubhouse wrap, Gourmet grilled cheese & Ham Ciabatta, Jambalaya Rice Bowl, Mac & Cheese, Chicken Caesar Salad, or Thai Chicken Coconut soup on Basmati with Nan Bread.  Come on down and check it out!

Numeracy & Literacy Exam results are now posted on the Ministry of Education website. Any questions… See Mr. Braun.

On Wednesday Morning in Block One we will be handing out Student Quarter 3 time tables.  Please make sure you pick it up, because there have may have been some changes in room numbers or teachers since they were printed at the start of the year. If you don’t have a block 1 class, your timetable can be picked up in the main office.   All course change requests MUST be submitted by Feb 3, it will be very difficult to change courses after beginning classes with a new cohort.  Please visit the Career Centre to pick up a course change form.

JUST A REMINDER that access to the cafeteria is only through the dining room for the next week!

JUST A REMINDER .... MORNING HOMEWORK HELP is available every morning from 7:15 am in room 156 and AFTER SCHOOL HOMEWORK HELP is every Monday through Thursday in the Learning Commons until 4pm.

CAREER CENTRE

DISTRICT CAREER PROGRAMS & DUAL CREDIT OPPORTUNITIES - Virtual Information Night – THURSDAY January 28 @ 7pm.  Parents are invited to join a virtual meeting to learn more about opportunities available to students in grades 10-12 in the Saanich School District. GREENBRICKS CAREER EXPLORATION CONFERENCE - What do you want to do when you finish school?  Explore your options! Students are invited to experience new career opportunities at this FREE career conference held remotely on Saturday, February 20th, 2021 from 9:00am – 2:30pm. The day includes prizes and a chance to win a $500 scholarship!  You must be registered by February 16th, 2021 (or earlier as space is limited) to attend this conference.  Registration is limited to 150 students. https://greenbricks.ca/conference-registration/ 

CAMOSUN COLLEGE - CamWeek Virtual Info night replaces our annual on-campus Info Night this year. Happening on Feb. 23-25, 2021 @ 4-8 pm.  Learn about Admissions, services including Financial Aid and AwardsCentre for Accessible Learning, programs and areas of study from the comfort of your own home. Sessions are expected to last about 45 minutes, giving you time to refill your pop & popcorn for the next event. EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES:

ELK LAKE FARM - is looking for Farm/garden help!  If you are interested in being outside and getting exercise, you may be a good candidate for this local job. Right now, the employer is looking for someone to help gather branches and do other odd jobs in the garden, starting at $15.00 hour.   Eventually, the job could increase to work in the vegetable garden and other areas of the property. Scheduling is flexible, starting at as little as 3 hours per week, working up to more hours and potential summer work.  The farm is located on Old West Saanich Rd. on the other side of Elk Lake. Contact: Cindy (250) 479-7773
