GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Today the CAFETERIA has the choice of a Stelly's Stinger Wrap with Honey Mustard, Baked California Panini, Hummus & Pita, Pear Almond & Chicken Salad, Beef Broccoli & Peppers on Rice Noodles with a spicy Peanut sauce, Baked Fettuccini with Spinach & tomato cream sauce or a Polynesian Chicken Rice Bowl.  Come on down and check it out!

Hey Stingers ... Pink Shirt Day is happening next Wednesday, February 24th – this day is celebrated annually around the globe. Pink Shirt Day began in Canada in 2007 when two students who took a stand against bullying after a 10-year-old was harassed and threatened for wearing pink.  We have some Awesome Looking Pink Shirts for sale in the main office ... only $10 each come check them out! 

REMINDER to students that the "Living life to the fullest" workshop is cancelled today!  

OVERDUE BOOKS:  Did you know that there is over $8500 worth of overdue textbooks this year alone?  Please bring in your textbooks to the Learning Commons as soon as possible or pay for your lost book! 

STUDENT ABSENCE OR LATE:  If a student will be absent or late for class, we ask that parents/guardians either email  stellys_attendance@saanichschools.ca or phone the Attendance Line 250-544-0300 to let the school know.  

JUST A REMINDER .... MORNING HOMEWORK HELP is available every morning from 7:15 am in room 156 and AFTER SCHOOL HOMEWORK HELP is every Monday through Thursday in the Learning Commons until 4pm.

ARE YOU INTERESTED IN BECOMING A DOCTOR?   Island Medical Program: Zoom Info Session – TONIGHT - If you are interested in becoming a doctor, you can earn your MD via the UBC MD Undergraduate Program in partnership with the University of Victoria and Island Health. GREENBRICKS CAREER EXPLORATION CONFERENCE - What do you want to do when you finish school?  Explore your options! Students are invited to experience new career opportunities at this FREE career conference held remotely on Saturday, February 20th, 2021 from 9:00am – 2:30pm. The day includes prizes and a chance to win a $500 scholarship!  You must be registered by February 16th, 2021 (or earlier as space is limited) to attend this conference.  Registration is limited to 150 students. https://greenbricks.ca/conference-registration/ 

ALERT FIRST AID with CPR ”C” & AED - Online and in class - Friday, April 23, 2021 - 12:00 am to 4:00 pm in class @ SHOAL Centre in Sidney.  Cost is $50.00 - Cash, cheque or credit card is accepted.  4 hours online and 4.5 hours in-class course trains people how to react and improvise during time priority and life-threatening emergencies.  The online component covers care for adults, children, and babies. The classroom component will focus on developing the participant’s skills. The instructor will know that participants have completed the online component, and won’t spend as much time on the background information that is covered here.  Participants must successfully complete both the online and the classroom components to be certified in Emergency First-Aid with CPR C .  For more details see the Career Centre Info Board or the Saanich Career Education website.  Register now! PARENT FUNDRAISER for STELLY'S STUDENT'S DRY AFTER GRAD 2021 is on now! Bring your broken bracelets, chains, earrings, or any other gold items to the school office up until March 12th.  Clean out those jewelry boxes and drawers Help support the 2021 Dry After Grad! 

PARENT DRY GRAD0 2021 COMMITTEE BOTTLE DRIVE will happen on Saturday, February 27th from 9am-12pm at Stelly's School.  We need volunteers!  Parents and Grads, please try to show up if at least for an hour - this bottle drive is HUGE and is contributing lots to the yearend event being planned out by all the parents. You can also drop your bottles off anytime throughout the year at one of the three Bottle Depots in Victoria (Glanford, Quadra and Queens) and ask for the funds to be added to the Stelly's Parent Grad Account. Thank You for your continued support!!

PENNINSULA YOUTH CLINIC is operating through Telehealth on Thursday evenings 5:30 - 7:30pm Appointments with doctors or mental health workers are conducted by phone or video. Services are completely free and confidential in their judgement free zone for any medical concerns, to get prescriptions, or to speak with a counsellor.
